Sorry! I read that as sarcastic! There is so much anti-Bible talk on here that I misread the intention of your post. PLEASE forgive me.

I have been working on this myself, and for reasons of my own, I consider the following to be good. Disclaimer: I am a life-long Episcopalian currently in the process of becoming Catholic. In my personal opinion, the further back we go, the less changes have been made (straight path). However, just understanding the changes themselves will also help you decide. I do believe as you dig on this topic, IF your intentions are to "find the best Bible translation" and you are aware of why it's important to you and you pray about it, (you) will be led and find your own reasons, for the Bible you choose. You will not find one without controversy.

Also. My method of investigation includes trying to understand one perspective at a time. I will try to understand the pro perspective before trying to understand the opposite then I can more clearly see the "good" from both perspectives.

One last thingโ€ฆbiblehub.org is a good tool for allowing you to see the differences among the different translations. Sometimes it boils down to being able to understand what you are reading. The Lord will guide you to what you need.
