I've been doing a personal dig on the history of the NIH and medical research in the US. I've found some spoopy connections going back many years and there's one biography I want to share today as it seems relevant to a lot of current issues.

Lasker seems to have been a real prodigy starting his first newspaper at the age of 12.

Of note to me was his marriage to Mary Reinhart a collaborator with Margaret Sanger on "The Negro Project".

Between Albert and Mary Lasker there are strong connections to medical research funding in the US through the NIH and the Lasker Foundation, connections to political campaigns and advertising and to the eugenics movement.

According to his bio, Albert Lasker has a reputation 'as the "Founder of Modern American Advertising."'
