God told Abraham that he was going to destroy Sodom & Gomorrah but Abraham pleaded with God to not destroy the cites. Abraham asked God to spare the cites if he could find 40 righteous people. God agreed to spare the cities for the sake of the 40 righteous people. But 40 righteous people could not be found. In the end only Lot, his wife and his two daughters were considered righteous. And they had their issues too.

Will God spare the US for the sake of righteous people who live here? Are there enough righteous people in the US for God to spare us? Maybe that is why we need to pray. God will spare the US for the sake of the righteous? Even though the US is also filled with many wicked people as well?
