The year 2020 will usher in a new decade, a new presidential election and a new way to vote for the entire state of Georgia.
“This will be the largest roll-out of voting machines in the U.S.,” Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger said.
Raffensperger stopped by the Floyd County elections office on Wednesday to sit down with Rep. Katie Dempsey, R-Rome, and Chief Elections Clerk Robert Brady to talk about the new voting machines that will be installed at every Georgia voting precinct before the March 2020 presidential preference primary.

(Aug 27) Letter details Elections Board’s reprimand of Robert Brady following argument over absentee ballot release:
“Your disrespectful and derogatory treatment of a Floyd County citizen was wholly unacceptable. Your behavior was unacceptable in any setting, whether public or private, and reflects negatively on the Board of Elections and the county as a whole. Such behavior undermines our community’s faith in the electoral process and county government. This is not the first time such behavior has occurred as documented in the correspondence received by the board."
“Further breach of these requirements will result in additional disciplinary action up to and including the possibility of employment termination. A copy of this reprimand will be placed in your official personnel file.”

Elections Chief Ousted in Floyd County, Georgia
The elections chief for Floyd County, Georgia, where about 2,600 ballots had initially gone uncounted, has been fired.
County elections board member Melanie Conrad said her panel dismissed Robert Brady, chief clerk of elections, on Thursday, according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
“Because this is Mr. Brady’s second written reprimand within a six-month period, the Floyd County Board of Elections voted to terminate Mr. Brady pursuant to county policy,” Conrad said in an email to the newspaper.
