Apple CEO Tim Cook gets private meeting with Trump

The White House has released no guidance on what the meeting is about, but Cook has spoken out on several issues Trump has been dealing with, including his proposed tariffs on billions of dollars worth of goods from China. Cook said in March a trade war needs to be avoided — Apple's big product, the iPhone, is mostly produced in China.

Another topic that could come up at the meeting is cybersecurity and the mishandling of user information at social media sites like Facebook. Cook has criticized Facebook for allowing millions of user’s personal information be compromised.

The Apple CEO has said he would never be in the same position that Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg is in now.

Cook was in attendance for Trump’s first state dinner Tuesday night, following the president’s day of meetings and press appearances with French President Emmanuel Macron.

The head of Apple has met privately with the president before alongside other tech industry leaders like Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk.
