REPORT: Coca-Cola, Nike Push Back On Legislation That Would Crack Down On Forced Labor In China

Major corporations Nike and Coca-Cola are reportedly pushing back on legislation that would crack down on forced labor in China.

The New York Times reported Sunday that the two companies have joined several others in an effort to put pressure on Congress “to weaken a bill that would ban imported goods made with forced labor in China’s Xinjiang region.”

The Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act has bipartisan support in Congress and is designed to ban certain goods that are produced in China with the aid of forced labor, particularly at the expense of religious minorities like the Uyghur Muslims.

Its passage would also force corporations to place their own supply chains under a proverbial microscope in order to ensure that they’re avoiding suppliers who utilized such labor sources.

Tech giant Apple and even the United States Chamber of Commerce have also pushed back on the legislation, according to The New York Times.

But the legislation, called the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act, has become the target of multinational companies including Apple whose supply chains touch the far western Xinjiang region, as well as of business groups including the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. Lobbyists have fought to water down some of its provisions, arguing that while they strongly condemn forced labor and current atrocities in Xinjiang, the act’s ambitious requirements could wreak havoc on supply chains that are deeply embedded in China.

Coca-Cola has been linked to sugar suppliers in the Xinjiang region, and Nike has been tied to a Qingdao factory that reportedly employed Uyghur workers.

Both companies have pushed back on the suggestion that they would allow forced labor in order to keep their suppliers. Coca-Cola released a statement saying that the company “strictly prohibits any type of forced labor in our supply chain” and used third-party auditors to ensure that their standards were being upheld. The last audit, which the company said was successful, took place in 2019.

Nike stated in March of this year that the Qingdao factory did not import source materials and had stopped hiring Uyghurs from the Xinjiang region in 2019. A report also published in March by the Australian Strategic Policy Institute stated that in 2019, the factory employed some 800 Uyghurs and produced more than seven million pairs of shoes.

Native American Voter Bribe Efforts Were Partially Funded By Soros and Government Agencies — Powered By Act Blue

Efforts to bribe Native Americans to vote in states crucial for the Democrats were partially funded by George Soros’ Open Society Foundation and government agencies.

Vote Native is an initiative of the National Congress of American Indians.

As the Gateway Pundit reported on Sunday evening, Native Americans in Arizona, Nevada and a slew of other states were given gift cards, televisions, electronics, and even resort stays in exchange for voting. These efforts were largely coordinated by the NCAI.

According to their website, the NCAI is partnered with the controversial Open Society Foundation, which was founded by Soros. The group also lists the Department of Agriculture, Department of Defense, Department of Health and Human Services, Department of the Interior, Department of Justice, Environmental Protection Agency, and the Small Business Administration as government partners.

Any monetary exchange for votes, whether partisan or not, is illegal.

However, all of the signs lead to this having been a highly partisan effort on behalf of the Democratic Party.

In Wisconsin, the Native Vote effort openly posted support for Joe Biden on their social media accounts. Among other “prizes” and giveaways, Native Vote gave away swag bags and held $50 Gift Card Raffles in exchange for proof that people voted.

Rand Paul In Good Company: Esteemed COVID Expert Deborah Birx Does NOT Have Medical License

If Rand Paul is not a doctor, then neither is one of the country's top COVID experts.

n Sunday night, Vanity Fair revealed that Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY), who was trained as a medical doctor and ophthalmologist, does not have a current medical license. With this news, Paul joins White House Coronavirus Task Force Member Dr. Deborah Birx in the growing list of high profile government officials who are doctors but are not licensed to practice medicine.

Vanity Fair reported, “the American Board of Medical Specialists says that Rand Paul hasn’t been a certified physician since 2005,” though they noted that Paul is aware of this and has let his license lapse, as it did in 2006, intentionally as a form of protest to the loose requirements for established doctors.

Paul told The Washington Post: “Is it fair that the ophthalmologist down the street can claim board certification, without renewing it, but that a younger ophthalmologist, who passed the same boards, is disallowed?”

While Paul publicly acknowledged this fact about his professional life and offered an explanation, Birx did not do the same after National File exclusively published the story in April that Birx does not have a current medical license.

Dr. Deborah Birx, a member of the White House Coronavirus Task Force, has an expired medical license.

Birx, who was appointed by former President Barack Obama to serve as United States Global AIDS Coordinator in 2014, graduated from the Pennsylvania State University medical school in 1980. She was issued a medical license in Pennsylvania in 1987.

That license expired on December 31, 2014, and it has not been renewed since then, according to the Pennsylvania Licensing System Verification Service, courtesy of the Pennsylvania Department of State.

While Paul’s role in the Senate has necessitated a deep knowledge of public health since the Chinese coronavirus emerged from Wuhan and spread to nearly every part of the planet, it should be noted that his job does not require vast medical knowledge and the majority of U.S. Senators are not doctors.

Birx, however, has served as the United States Global AIDS Coordinator for Presidents Barack Obama and Donald Trump since 2014, around the time she let her license expire. She also serves on the White House Coronavirus Task Force alongside Anthony Fauci.
