Been thinking that the Iron Eagle is Colonel Mastriano. Iron Eagle is a long serving Army Colonel who is not a career path to becoming a General.

He was in Afghanistan at the same time as General Flynn working in intelligence.

He left the Army in Nov 2017 which was around the time of the first mention of Iron Eagle.
