How can Governor-General Hurley be believed about the war crimes given he tried to cover-up the ADF sex tape scandal?

Australia’s Governor-General David Hurley, who has a history of trying to cover-up the ADF sex tape scandal in 2011/2012, is now in the spotlight about his role in the war crimes cover-up given he was chief of the defence force when the alleged war crimes were committed.

It was reported last week that “Scott Morrison warned Australia’s Defence Force Chief Angus Campbell that he expects the top brass to be held accountable for alleged war crimes in Afghanistan, not just the rogue soldiers who were on the frontline.” (Click here to read more)

I agree with Scott Morrison that “the top brass be held accountable” but that raises the question of why did Scott Morrison appoint David Hurley as Governor-General of Australia on the 1st of July 2019. Surely that needs investigating as well as the numerous alleged war crimes. The dates the alleged war crimes happened have been well known for several years and it was also well known that David Hurley was chief of the defence force when they occurred although he denies any knowledge of the alleged war crimes.

There were warning signs about General Hurley’s questionable morals and corrupt conduct as far back as 2011/2012 when I published a number of articles about the ADF sex tape scandal cover-up which happened when General David Hurley was in charge.

On the 12th of March 2012 I published an article titled “Defence Force Chief General David Hurley caught lying to the Australian public to cover up the abuse of an 18-year-old female” which started off:

Over the last few days, some of the media and others have been calling for the resignation or sacking of Defence Minister Stephen Smith over the defence force Skype sex tape scandal. Yet they have failed to call for the same from the Chief of Defence General David Hurley and the commander of the Australian Defence Force Academy Commodore Bruce Kafer.

Criminal offences have taken place in their attempt to cover up criminal offences in the defence force and there needs to be a Royal Commission as the cover-up is being directed by the highest levels of the defence force. (Click here to read more)

On the 5th of July 2019, I published an article titled “Governor-General David Hurley and the ADF sex tape cover-up. Will he be another Peter Hollingworth?” which started off:

On Monday (1-7-19) General David Hurley, former Chief of the Defence Force from 2011 to 2014, was sworn in as the Governor-General. But was due diligence done given David Hurley was up to his neck in the infamous ADFA Skype sex-tape cover-up scandal in Canberra? The obvious question is will David Hurley become another Peter Hollingworth who was forced to resign as Governor-General when he was exposed for covering up child sex abuse when he was Archbishop of Brisbane.

David Hurley was Governor of NSW from 2014 until May 2019 but that position does not get anywhere near the scrutiny or publicity as the Governor-General and the media in Canberra should have been asking a lot of questions, but they haven’t.

We’ll first have a quick look at former Governor-General Peter Hollingworth and his resignation as that gives an indication of what could possibly be ahead for David Hurley. The fact that Hollingworth’s past cover-ups keep being raised today, 15 years after his resignation, suggests very strongly that is likely what will also happen with David Hurley and his cover-ups at the Australian Defence Force which might lead to another Governor-General resigning. California's Newsom Warns Of "Dramatic, Arguably Drastic" New Restrictions To Come As Hospitalizations Hit Record Highs

Update (1555ET): California Gov Gavin Newsom just warned that more drastic steps could be taken to contain the virus after the state reported another 15k+ new cases yesterday. The Golden State could be facing "much more dramatic, arguably drastic" measures to contain the spread of the virus. The state also broke its record for hospitalized patients yesterday: The state reported 7,415 coronavirus hospitalizations, with more than 1,700 of those patients in ICUs. The number of hospitalizations broke the state’s previous record of 7,170 in July.

Health officials are preparing for a wave of virus cases over the next two or three weeks that could be linked to Thanksgiving gatherings. Authorities had urged residents to stay home and limit their interactions with others, but millions nationwide defied the advice. California has had nearly 1.2 million confirmed cases since the pandemic began, with 19,121 virus-related deaths. The state reported 7,415 coronavirus hospitalizations on Sunday, citing the most recently available data from the previous day. More than 1,700 of those patients are in ICUs. The number of hospitalizations broke the state’s previous record of 7,170 in July.

Newsom added that the state has 11 "surge" hospitals that it will be activating,

A record number of the state's 58 ocunties will be facing 'purple'-level restrictions, which returns people to lockdown-like restrictions. The number of new COVID-19 cases reported in the US topped 200,000 for the first time Friday. Previously, the highest daily count was 196,000 on Nov. 20, according to data from Johns Hopkins University. Since January, when the first infections were reported in the US, the nation’s total number of cases has surpassed 13 million. More than 265,000 people have died.

Arizona State Rep Says ‘We Are Clawing Our Electoral College Votes Back,’ Plans To WITHHOLD On January 20

Arizona Rep. Mark Finchem seeks to prevent the state from assigning its Electoral College votes to Joe Biden

After the state’s hearing into election integrity was only halfway through, Arizona State Rep. Mark Finchem, a Republican, issued a call for his colleagues to withhold the state’s Electoral College votes, as he believes there is enough significant evidence of fraud to invalidate the state’s votes.

“We are clawing our electoral college votes back, we will not release them. That’s what I’m calling our colleagues in both the House and the Senate to do,” added Finchem. “Exercise our plenary authority under the U.S. Constitution.”

He added, “There is a legal brief out there that says we are not tethered to state statue. When it comes to this one question, a simple majority can call the House and Senate back, and in a day pass a resolution, and cause those electors to basically be held. And it is binding. I’ll see you all in court.”

Standing nearby was Sonny Borrelli, the Republican Senate Majority Whip, indicating Finchem’s plan may already be receiving support among the Arizona Republican Party’s leadership.

This comes after former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani and Trump campaign senior attorney Jenna Ellis both made the case and then directly asked the Arizona legislature to either withhold their electoral votes, as Finchem plans to do, or to assign them to President Trump.

Also standing next to Finchem was U.S. Rep. Paul Gosar (R-AZ), who joined the event in a show of solidarity with both supporters of President Donald Trump and the president himself. Gosar previously appeared at an early pro-Trump protest in Arizona, where he delivered a seemingly impromptu speech calling for election integrity, bellowing that “Biden’s thugs will not steal this election.”

Georgia secretary of state opens investigation into voter registration groups

Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger (R) announced Monday he was opening an investigation into third-party voting groups that allegedly are encouraging people outside Georgia to register to vote in January's Senate runoff elections.

Raffensperger at a press conference named four groups he would be investigating: America Votes, Vote Forward, The New Georgia Project and Operation New Voter Registration Georgia.

“We have opened an investigation into a group called America Votes, who is sending absentee ballot applications to people at addresses where they have not lived since 1994,” said Raffensperger.

In a statement to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, America Votes said it has mailed applications to those on the list of voters maintained by Raffensperger's office.

“We’re pleased that so many Georgians have already applied to vote by mail this election and will continue our work to make sure every voice is heard in January,” said the group.

Republican incumbent Sens. David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler will face Democrats Jon Ossoff and the Rev. Raphael Warnock in Georgia on Jan. 5. The outcome of the two races will determine which party controls the Senate.

Raffensperger accused Vote Forward of attempting to register a dead woman in Alabama as a voter in Georgia, The New Georgia Project of sending registration forms to people in New York and Operation New Voter Registration Georgia of telling college students to temporarily change their residency to Georgia.

“Voting in Georgia when you are not a resident of Georgia is a felony, and encouraging college kids to commit felonies with no regard for what [it] might mean for them is despicable. These third-party groups have a responsibility to not encourage illegal voting. If they do so, they will be held responsible,” said Raffensperger.

The state’s voting system manager, Gabriel Sterling, said he assumes the groups will claim those incidents as legitimate or accidental.

“But that’s why you investigate,” said Sterling.

According to Sterling, 940,000 Georgians have already requested absentee ballots for the runoff elections, while 1.3 million Georgians requested absentee ballots for the Nov. 3 election.

The results of the presidential election in Georgia have been repeatedly attacked by President Trump and his allies.

The War Crimes of Obama and Hillary Clinton: Libya, Syria and Yemen

“The crimes of the United States have been systematic, constant, vicious, remorseless, but very few people have actually talked about them. You have to hand it to America. It has exercised a quite clinical manipulation of power worldwide while masquerading as a force for universal good.” (Harold Pinter, Nobel Prize speech 2005)(1)

Many people thought that US President Obama, who was in power from 2009 – 2017, would be a huge improvement over President Bush when it came to foreign policy. They believed that he would be far less militaristic. However, this view was somewhat naïve. US Presidents from the Democratic Party have historically been involved in many wars, and Obama virtually boasted of bombing 7 countries.(2) He ordered a new bombing campaign in Iraq, extended the Afghan war into Pakistan, destroyed Libya, and sent US forces to fight in Yemen, Somalia and Syria. He also openly assassinated people, including US citizens, using pilotless drones. Not only is this a serious crime, but for each person deliberately killed, it is estimated that, on average, somewhere between ten and fifty innocent bystanders were also killed.(3)

Some readers will be aware of a sequence of events beginning in 2011 that were called the ‘Arab Spring’, where populations in the Middle East protested against their governments. These events highlight a number of the points that we have already explored. There were large-scale protests in Tunisia, Egypt, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, but these regimes have historically been supported by the US, so the US has not provided assistance to the protestors in these countries,(4) despite the fact that these countries have very poor human rights records. Various commentators have noted that British and US journalists misleadingly use the term ‘moderate arab states’ when they are describing some of the most extreme religious governments, such as Saudi Arabia and Egypt.(5)

However, Libya under Colonel Gadaffi, and Syria under Bashar al-Assad, were considered to be official US enemies, so the US, Britain, France and other countries have supported the protestors there. It is important to be aware that events in these two countries are rather different from events in other ‘Arab Spring’ countries. Elsewhere, the protests have mostly been ordinary people engaging in protest. In Syria and Libya, eyewitness accounts indicate that many of the ‘protestors’ have been extremists (in other words, terrorists) who have been much more violent.(6)

Libya

The US and their allies flew 26,000 sorties to drop bombs on Libya in 2011. The actions of US and British bombers, and the terrorists supported by the West, have led to “mass death, ethnic cleansing, mass displacement for millions of Libyans, and the destruction of the entire country.”(7) The US and Britain claimed that the reason for their involvement was humanitarian intervention, to avert a massacre, but this was yet another lie. An investigation in Parliament in the UK in 2016 showed that there was no evidence that a massacre would have taken place.(8) The US and Britain created other propaganda to generate support for the invasion. They claimed that Gaddafi was giving Viagra to his troops to encourage mass rape, but there was again no evidence for this.(9)

Wikileaks obtained over 250,000 documents about Libya,(10) and 10% of them referred to oil. Gadaffi had been concerned for a number of years that foreign oil companies had too much control over Libya’s oil, and was intending to change that. Wikileaks’ release of US Secretary-of-State Hillary Clinton’s e-mails has also provided good evidence about the real motives for French involvement in the military attacks on Libya. They show that the French President, Sarkozy, was motivated to support the war for the following reasons(11):

Trump Legal Team Responds to Certification of Arizona’s False Election Results – Secretary of State Now Reporting RECORD 79.9% Voter Turnout

The Trump-hating Arizona Secretary of State on Monday certified the state’s false election results.

Secretary of State Katie Hobbs previously called Trump supporters “neo-nazis.”

Katie Hobbs rushed to certify the election results despite major concerns about voting machine security, statistically improbable vote dumps in Maricopa County and other irregularities.

NATO mulls its future in Afghanistan as US draws down troops

BRUSSELS — NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg said Monday that the military alliance is grappling with a dilemma over its future in Afghanistan, as the United States starts pulling troops out while attacks by the Taliban and extremist groups mount.

More than 17 years after taking the lead on international security efforts in Afghanistan, NATO now has around 11,000 troops from dozens of nations there helping to train and advise the national security forces. Most of the personnel are from Europe and other NATO partner countries.

But the alliance relies heavily on the United States armed forces for air support, transport and logistics. European allies would struggle even to leave the country without U.S. help, and President Donald Trump’s decision to pull almost half the U.S. troops out by mid-January leaves NATO in a bind.

“We face a difficult dilemma. Whether to leave, and risk that Afghanistan becomes once again a safe haven for international terrorists. Or stay, and risk a longer mission, with renewed violence,” Stoltenberg told reporters on the eve of a videoconference between NATO foreign ministers.

Under a peace deal between the United States and the Taliban — without the involvement of other NATO allies or the Afghan government — all foreign troops should leave Afghanistan by May 1 if security conditions on the ground permit.

“Whatever path we choose, it is important that we do so together, in a coordinated and deliberate way,” Stoltenberg said, on the eve of a videoconference between NATO foreign ministers where the organization’s most ambitious operation ever will be high on the agenda. Trump’s unilateral decision to leave only 2,500 U.S. troops with the mission had allied military planners scrambling, as they tried to work out whether NATO could continue to operate in Kabul, and other major cities. NATO diplomats say that for now they have enough “enablers” to get the job done.

Afghan officials also fear that a rapid reduction in American troops could strengthen the Taliban’s negotiating position.

Team Trump Demands Signature Audit as Dominion Server Crash Delays Georgia Recount

Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger’s (R) bad day is about to get even worse. Early on Monday morning, news broke that a Dominion voting machine server crash delayed the third Georgia recount. Just after noon, the Donald Trump campaign sent its fifth request for a signature audit involving absentee ballots.

“Until the signatures are matched, the vote count in Georgia is a complete fraud,” former New York City mayor and Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani declared in a statement. “There is no way of knowing which ballots are honest and which ballots are fraudulent.”

The Trump campaign claimed that between 38,250 and 45,626 absentee ballots were illegal due to signature-matching failures, numbers that far exceed Biden’s 12,670 margin of victory in the state.

Addressing Raffensperger, Trump attorney Ray S. Smith III said, “It is not possible for you to accurately certify the results in the presidential race from the November 3, 2020, election until and unless there is a thorough audit of the signatures, which we have now requested four times in writing prior to this request. You cannot in good faith conclude the ongoing statutory recount until you have instituted a signature matching audit.”

Late Sunday evening, Dominion Voting Systems machines crashed in Fulton County as Georgia continued its third recount of the presidential election results. Roughly 88 percent of the county’s results had been counted. Raffensperger’s office later explained that the crash resulted from human error.

Last week, Michael Steel, a spokesman for Dominion, denied claims that votes cast through the company’s systems were at risk of being altered.

“Look, when a voter votes on a Dominion machine, they fill out a ballot on a touch screen. They are given a printed copy which they then give to a local election official for safekeeping. If any electronic interference had taken place, the tally reported electronically would not match the printed ballots. and in every case where we’ve looked at — in Georgia, all across the country — the printed ballot, the gold standard in election security, has matched the electronic tally,” he argued.

When it comes to signature-matching, election officials have to check the signatures on the secrecy envelopes before counting absentee ballots in those envelopes. According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, even if election officials did illegally count absentee ballots, it may be impossible to fix the problem, since ballots are not kept with secrecy envelopes after officials remove and tally them.

Election officials rejected 2,011 absentee ballots in the Georgia general election, according to Raffensperger’s office. Voters returned a total of 1.32 million absentee ballots, so the rejection rate is 0.15 percent, the same as in the 2018 election. That year, Georgians cast only 284,000 absentee ballots, 454 of which were rejected for signature mismatches.

Allegations of voting tabulation errors have plagued Georgia’s election system for the weeks after Nov. 3. A previous recount found thousands of previously-uncounted ballots. Recently, the five-member Georgia State Election Board agreed to extend the use of 24/7 monitored drop boxes for the runoff elections on January 5.

In a USA Today op-ed last week, Raffensperger claimed that “Georgia had a wildly successful and smooth election.” He lamented, “My family voted for Trump. He threw us under the bus anyway.”

On Monday, he argued that Trump had been misled by “misinformation.”

“There are those who are exploiting the emotions of many Trump supporters with fantastic claims, half-truths, misinformation—and frankly, they are misleading the president as well, apparently,” Raffensperger said.

Report: 186,000+ Firearm Background Checks on Black Friday 2020

Over 186,000 firearm background checks were performed on Black Friday 2020, making it the fourth-highest one-day total for National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) checks on record.

USA Today reported that there were 186,645 NICS checks on Black Friday 2020.

Forbes observed this year’s Black Friday shoppers would be met by “lean inventories and Covid-19 restrictions,” noting that Friday was the day North Carolina’s mask mandate took effect. The outlet also noted that lockdowns in California were not helpful to gun sales.

For example, Danielle Jaymes, general manager of Poway, California’s Poway Weapons and Gear Range, said, “[On] Black Friday we were down about 50% versus last year. We were still busy, but we were down 50% because California is on lockdown. We could only allow a certain number of people inside at a time, so it really hindered what we can do.”

This year has been a record for NICS checks in America. On November 9, 2020, the National Rifle Association-Institute for Legislative Action (NRA-ILA) reported that the number of checks conducted January 2o20 through October 2020 alone represented “13% more checks than the previous busiest year for the NICS office.”

The number of background checks conducted on a given Black Friday or during a given month do not tell the full story on gun sales, as multiple guns may be purchased with each background check. (A background check is conducted on the buyer, not on the gun[s] he or she wishes to buy.) Yet background checks do give some indication regarding the demand for firearms.

And with the tally that represents the fourth-highest single day ever for background checks, Black Friday 2020 was a day in which guns were in high demand.
