Had a dog that destroyed my couch. When the mailman came he chewed on it. Then the mailman went away. The dog associated that with success (he scared away the bad guy!) so he kept amping it up until the couch was destroyed. He was so proud! We may not have had a couch any more but the house was safe from that evil mailman.
