>Do you choose selfishness or selflessness?
Love or self-gratification?
Love seeks the best for the other at its own expense
Self-gratification seeks the best for self at the other’s expense
Love seeks to fulfil the other’s desires
Self-gratification seeks to fulfil self’s desires
Love feeds the other and promotes the other’s personal growth.
Self-gratification feeds on the other and consumes the other.
Love seeks empowerment to serve and makes no demands of the other.
Self-gratification seeks power over the other to control the other.
1 Corinthians 13
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonour others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.
