If we are truly at war, and Barr is a good guy, then why would he telegraph his intent to the public? (and bad guys)

Also, if this is a criminal investigation, why would the lead prosecutor (Barr) detail the evidence of the case being built to the public?

That would be the epitome of self-destruction, for any prosecutor.
