respectfully agree that's a big one. the problem with the conservative side is the fanatical fundamentalists who insist (w/o sauce) that life begins at conception, and all abortions must be banned without exception.

>life does begin at conception

bullsnot.

fertilization of a human egg occurs EVERY time a couple has coitus. 90% of the time (27 days of the month) that fertilized egg fails to attach to the uterine wall because it is not receptive, and it is flushed from the body during menses. it seems God does not share your sanctimonious regard for the fertilized egg.

>you certainly ain't gonna change my mind

a mind like cement, eh? all mixed up and permanently set.

consult your own Christian faith. we celebrate Christmas, the day Jesus was BORN, not the day He was conceived. after His crucifixion, He entered the tomb (womb) on good friday, and emerged three days (trimesters) later to ascend to life ever after, and Easter is the day we celebrate, NOT good friday.

from the purely practical point of view, wouldn't it be better to compromise and allow abortions up until the third trimester? i agree late term abortions are murder, but NO fetus has ever survived delivery prior to 22 wks, and that was and extreme outlier.

and from a practical point of view, a total ban will NEVER be law again.

>they get you down on their level and beat you with stupid.

oh, i see, facts about human reproductive biology are "stupid," but unbased mindless adherence to arational dogma is a sign of true faith.

God gave you a brain, good sir, so you would USE IT. to deny the fruits of rational thought is NOT an act of faith, but a DENIAL.

>can we agree that there are areas in our lives that should be left up to God alone?

sure, if you agree to wait for God to impregnate your wife instead of you. or is the decision to have intercourse somehow less a decision of man?

how 'bout when you get a major health issue? you goin' to the doctor? or you gonna leave it up to God to make you better?
