Hussein interviews with Peter Hamby of Good Morning America: #DefundThePolice should be "reform the police" now
Yes, looks like it's the same "gloomy" space from before with similar curtains. Remember Obummer's previous video on how to make sourdough?
Obummer calls "Defund the police" as a snappy slogan. He now suggests activists go after putting pressure to reform the police, so that everyone gets treated "fairly".
Some examples he mentioned:
Putting resources to divert young people from getting into crime.
→ What about everyone else who may be committing a crime?
Sending mental health workers to homeless individuals instead of an armed police officer, as the police officer could shoot the individual.
→ What about the other way around? The mental health worker gets harmed by the homeless individual?
Reforming the police is still a broad statement, like the BLM movement. One might see "reforming the police" as removing the DS actors in police units; others might see "reforming the police" as diverting money from police departments and funding mental health workers which won't help active crime incidents.
At one point in the video, Hamby also calls Obummer a former "community organizer". We know this term folks, don't we?
