Timing between Macron and Merkel visits, and max media attention in anti-Trump EU will be an embarrassing red pill if EU involved.
I thought Trump played up Macron's Iran deal pitch in order to set Merkel up. He may blast it publiclly with Merkel to make her look like the one who screwed up the EU plan.
Iran saying yesterday that they would not accept any new deal gives cover for Merkel at Macron's expense, so somewhere in that EU/Iran/Merkel nexus is an embarrassing link that's about to be exploited, IMO.
Discussion on how to handle memo release could be tied to the Merkel visit; that's how I read Q's 'Welcome to the WH" line.
