I don't even think it's Occultist. Japanese are just weird and use a lot of Christian imagery strictly for aesthetics in games, anime, etc.. Especially Catholic figures. They love Joan for Arc for some reason (can't really blame them. She was amazing). They have a very tiny Christian population, and don't know much about it directly.

I'm south Texas, but I'd recommend north Texas for a more "balanced" idea of heat. Hot summers, but not hellish like here. And colder winters.
