Kyle Rittenhouse, 17, is ordered to stand trial for murder over shooting deaths of protesters in Kenosha
Kyle Rittenhouse has been ordered to stand trial over the shooting of three Black Lives Matter protesters in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
The decision was handed down Thursday, following a contentious hearing conducted over Zoom, during which the defendant's lawyer tried to show he had acted in self-defense.
However, Kenosha County Circuit Court Commissioner Loren Keating determined that there was enough probable cause for the case to proceed.
Rittenhouse, of Antioch, Illinois, has been charged with homicide and attempted homicide for the August 25 fatal shootings of Joseph Rosenbaum and Anthony Huber and the wounding of Gaige Grosskreutz.
The incidents occurred during a night of civil unrest in Kenosha, which were sparked by the police shooting of black man, Jacob Blake. …

Pfizer will only ship 50 million doses of its COVID vaccine worldwide - HALF as many as promised - by the end of 2020 after running into 'supply chain problems'
Pfizer will only be able to ship half as many doses of its coronavirus vaccine as it promised by the end of the year, cutting its planned global rollout from 100 million to 50 million doses, sources told the Wall Street Journal.
The company had to walk back its plan due to slowdowns in its supply chain.
'Scaling up the raw material supply chain took longer than expected,' a company spokeswoman told the WSJ.
'And it’s important to highlight that the outcome of the clinical trial was somewhat later than the initial projection.'
Pfizer's vaccine was given temporary approval by UK regulators on Wednesday, and is expected to get emergency use authorization from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration following the agency's December 10 meeting.
The UK ordered 40 million doses of Pfizer's vaccine, with the expectation it could vaccinate 10 million people by year-end. That number will now likely be closer to five million.
Operation Warp Speed, the U.S. vaccine initiative, expected to have 40 million doses - enough to inoculate 20 million people with each of the two-dose shots - in total from both Pfizer and Moderna by the end of the year.
Now, the U.S. will likely get just 10 million doses of Pfizer's vaccine next month. It is unclear whether Moderna's supply chain will be affected. …

(ZEROHEDGE) – The United States is taking significant steps to shield its personnel from any potential retaliation attack in the Middle East, on Wednesday ordering a temporary draw down from the embassy in Baghdad until President Trump leaves office.
This involves up to half of all diplomatic personnel leaving at a moment of soaring tensions with Iran following last week's assassination of top Iranian nuclear scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, after which Tehran swore revenge.
Iranian leaders have blamed primarily Israel and the opposition proxy group MEK, the latter which for decades has sought the violent overthrow of the Ayatollah, but also have strongly suggested US assistance to the covert plot as well.

Hopes of a Brexit trade deal 'are receding' as UK accuses EU of making NEW 11th-hour demands with talks on knife-edge
Hopes of a post-Brexit trade deal were fading tonight as the UK accused the EU of tabling fresh demands at the last minute.
With the clock ticking to strike an agreement before Britain severs ties with the bloc on December 31, crunch talks in London are going right down to the wire.
They appear to have snagged this evening after a sandwich-fuelled sit-down between the two teams, led by Lord Frost and Michel Barnier, ended in stalemate.
A senior UK Government source pointed the finger at Brussels and said: 'At the 11th hour, the EU is bringing new elements into the negotiation.
'A breakthrough is still possible in the next few days but that prospect is receding.'
State aid rules and access to British waters for European fishermen have been the main sticking points preventing an agreement.
If no deal is brokered before the transition period ends, the UK will start trading with the EU on World Trade Organisation terms, meaning the erection of tariff barriers.
