I for one, CAN believe the story. I guess maybe you anons don't have dogs. loose rugs. or play with them.

My chis run through the house at break-neck speed and slide the rugs around on a daily basis.

Add a dementia impaired old fart and you can easily fall and hurt yourself.

It's a hairline fracture. It is an old man with brittle bones.

I broke a bone in my foot years ago, falling off a wedge heeled shoe. I sprained my ankle so badly i didn't know I had broken a bone in my foot. When it was x-rayed they told me I also had a broken bone. I was told it is an easy bone to fracture and it is because the foot is twisted so badly it gives in the middle of the bone. It isn't from impact, it is from the twisting. I got a real hard core cast on my foot and leg, not a boot.

I am not saying he isn't lying. I am only saying it is believable to me.
