TWATTER THROTTLING KANYE TREND?

This can't be a coincidence my fellow diggers. The past few days, I've been following this whole Kanye wave. I've RT'd a few of his twaats. I've commented on a few as well. For the 2nd time in as many days, those kind folks at twatter decided to temporarily lock me out of my account. I was immediately required to verify that I'm not a bot by passing 2-3 tests.

This most recent lockout, which just happened minutes ago, I decided to read twatter rules & policies using the link they provided. Scrolling down I find a section titled Trends.

''At times, we may prevent certain content from trending. This includes content that violates the twatter rules, as well as content that may attempt to manipulate trends. Read more about what we allow and do not

allow to trend.''

Clicking on Read more link I come across section titled Are there rules for trends?

Yes. We want trends to promote healthy discussions on twatter. This means that at times, we may prevent certain content from trending. These include trends that:

Contain profanity or adult/graphic references.

Incite hate on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, religious affiliation, age, disability, or disease.

Violate the Twitter Rules.

In some cases, we may also consider the newsworthiness of the content, or if it is in the public interest when evaluating potential violations. In these cases, the content might continue to trend on our platform.

Note that even if we prevent the hashtag or the content from appearing on the list of trending topics, you may still be able to access conversations around that content on Twitter.

Now, this is all old news that twatter censors contact they deem unworthy. But this time, I think they've got much more skin in the game. I seriously think this could send ripples across the land…
