If you think that the people in control are going to just say: "oh, fine, you caught us, we are guilty, you win." - then you're delusional. If you think it impossible for the official varieties of force to be compromised and under their control, then you should turn in your toys authorized by the second amendment - and better yet, get rid of the second amendment.
The second amendment exists because the hardest thing for evil to infect is the body public, contrary to what religion may tell you. While we prefer orderly applications of force under due process of law, the reality is that it is specifically those institutions first targeted for corruption and subversion and the least reliable when needed the most.
It is no risk to police to jail or imprison a law abiding citizen. He will recognize and submit to the due process of the system and believe he will see his day in court before a fair judge and jury.
It is a risk to arrest a criminal bent against submitting to due process and the authority of the system.
Hopefully, our military is not so lost as to enjoin treason.
However, if you are not running through scenarios including that final act of treachery and considering how to handle them, you're not paying attention to the world around you.
