Robert Merritt claims in sworn affidavits that really happened in Watergate does not match the common narrative. Robert Meritt claims his handler, Carl Shoffler, worked for Military Intelligence. If you recall Carl Shoffler was made famous as he arrested the Watergate burglars. In “Secret Agenda: Watergate, Deep Throat, and the CIA” (1984), Jim Hougan wrote Carl Shoffer, “had assisted the CIA in the past.”
