President-elect Joe Biden’s incoming administration will confront one of its toughest challenges abroad in Venezuela, where President Nicolás Maduro holds elections Sunday in a vote the U.S. considers a sham.

With the election, Mr. Maduro will win control of congress, and his country will join Cuba and Nicaragua as the only nations in the Americas where a regime dominates all branches of the government and armed forces.

Mr. Maduro will wield untrammeled authority in a nation that once was a great oil power but is now suffering a crushing economic collapse as it is overrun by armed groups trafficking cocaine and gold.

The governor continued, “So from the videos on social media and certainly this picture there is no obvious attempt to enforce social distancing or face masks, even though wearing masks indoors in New Jersey is mandatory at organized gatherings when individuals are not eating or drinking.”

According to Murphy, “it is also beyond the pale that a member of Congress” would attend this event, and referred to Gaetz as “Matt Putz.”

Gaetz, Murphy says, is a “fool” for attending the event and said all those who attended the gala “should be ashamed of themselves.”

Then the governor made a statement directly to Rep. Gaetz. “I hope you’re watching, Matt. You are not welcome in New Jersey, and frankly, I don’t ever want you back in this state.”

New polling out of Georgia shows that the majority of voters believe the 2020 elections were “compromised” to the point where it could change the outcome.

“Our @trafalgar_group #GASen #Runoff #Polls also shed some light on Georgia voters opinions of whether the #Presidential elections were compromised enough to change the outcome,” Trafalgar Group Chief Pollster Robert C. Cahaly tweeted Friday. “All voters 53.2% yes, 37.9% no, 8.9% unsure. GOP voters 74.6% yes, 15.9% no, 9.5% unsure.”

Sens. Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.) and Ed Markey (D-Mass.) have called for a nationwide mask-wearing mandate to be included in the next pandemic relief bill.

Speaking at a joint press conference on Friday, the two senators drew attention to their proposed legislation, dubbed the Encouraging Masks for All Act, which would require states to implement mask mandates.

“Our goal is going to be, you know, to work towards including it inside of the coronavirus relief package,” Markey told reporters. “We think this is kind of common sense.”

“Making this mask-wearing mandate a part of that pandemic relief is an imperative; it’s a moral imperative,” Blumenthal told reporters at the news conference.

The two Democrat lawmakers said that their legislation would encourage people to use masks in all public spaces and outdoors where social distancing cannot be maintained.

The CIA has been telling American presidents since the Bush administration that Iran was not building a nuclear weapon, that it ended its nuclear weapons program in the late 1990s and was pursuing peaceful uses for nuclear power.

Many outside analysts, including Israel’s Mossad, scoffed at that analysis. As it turns out, that may have been the CIA’s second-biggest intelligence blunder in its history, the first being 9/11.

Unbeknownst to the CIA, Israel had burrowed deep into the Iranian government and nuclear program. And what they found shows that Iran’s nuclear program was hardly peaceful.

Former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert was able to obtain a recording of recently-assassinated Iranian nuclear weapons chief Mohsen Fakhrizadeh in a discussion with a colleague talking about the Iranian government wanting him to “build 5 warheads” but not giving him the resources to carry out his orders.

The recording was made in 2008 and played for President George Bush during a visit to Israel. A report detailing the meeting and the secret recording appeared in Yedioth Ahronoth, a daily newspaper with the largest circulation in Israel.
