Central Bank Of Uzbekistan Introduces Parallel Currency: Gold

Since November 2020, the central bank of Uzbekistan (CBU) issues sealed gold bars with a QR-code for real time verification. With these new bars CBU aims to stimulate gold to be used as a store of value, as well as promote the circulation of gold.

More and more governments and central banks around the world are promoting gold as a store of value. Not surprisingly, as gold has proven to preserve its purchasing power over thousands of years, and it’s becoming ever more clear the future of fiat currencies is shaky (yes, central banks are aware of this).

The above statement from the central bank of Italy should be interpreted as a warning: money issued by central banks has counterparty risk and can lose its value, while gold retains its value. The development of central banks promoting gold is a slow shift from plan A (fiat) towards plan B (gold), as I have written about here, here, and here.

Uzbekistan is pro gold as well—roughly 57% of CBU’s international reserves consist of gold, and since November CBU is incentivizing to population to buy gold as a store of value through its innovative gold bars.

The new gold bars issued by CBU have a special protective packaging, which includes three security layers: a unique serial number, a QR-code for real time digital authenticity verification, and a membrane that changes color when broken.

Ex-CIA head Brennan wrong to call Iranian scientist killing ‘criminal,’ US also carried out such actions, ex-Mossad chief tells RT

Criticism of the killing of a senior Iranian military researcher voiced by the ex-head of the CIA seems misplaced considering that his chief Barack Obama ordered targeted assassinations himself, a former Mossad head believes.

Mohsen Fakhrizadeh was gunned down last week in what many, including top Iranian officials, believe to be a clandestine Israeli operation. RT’s Going Underground spoke to Efraim Halevy, the former head of Israeli secret service Mossad, to discuss the high-profile assassination, criticism of the move coming from some senior intelligence figures in the US, and what possible goals may have been behind it.

John Brennan, the head of the CIA under Barack Obama, reacted to the killing with remarkably harsh words calling it a “criminal act,”“highly reckless” and possibly an “act of state-sponsored terrorism” that would be “a flagrant violation of international law.”

The characterization does not seem genuine coming from Brennan, Halevy said, considering that “American organizations and agencies in the past have carried out similar acts when they believed that an individual was endangering the national security of their country.”

I think that name-calling is not a very good idea in this kind of activity.

Brennan was the one official in the Obama administration to formally acknowledge for the first time that the CIA was running the highly controversial program of targeted drone assassinations. He insists that killing “terrorist leaders & operatives” is fundamentally different to what happened to Fakhrizadeh.

Halevy pointed out that Fakhrizadeh was not merely a scientist but also a high-ranking officer in the IRGC, Iran’s powerful military wing. He refused to assess whether targeting him was legitimate or not, saying such judgements don’t belong to retired officials. He also noted that as a political tool such killings were very limited.

“Targeted assassinations have the value of the moment and they are important as such,” he said. “But if you are looking for a strategic change as a result of such an operation you will not find it.”

RT also spoke about the situation with Sam Medhi Torabi, director of the Risalat Strategic Studies Institute in Iran, who said if Israel expected Iran to lash out after Fakhrizadeh’s murder and subject itself to retaliation, people in charge there don’t really know Iran.

The assassination “is not going to take Iran away from its strategic goal,” he said.

“Iran’s strategic goal is to drive out, expel the Americans from West Asia. It’s going to happen, the only issue is how it is going to happen,” he assured.

Gun Violence Has Killed 23 Times More Chicago Youth Than COVID

Chicago youth are at far higher risk of dying from gun violence than they are from COVID-19. That’s been the case since the start of the pandemic.

As of December 1, four Chicago youth have died from COVID but over 90 have died from gun violence. That’s 23 children dead from gun violence for every COVID death.

The numbers are far worse than they were five months ago when Wirepoints laid out the facts about reopening Chicago Public Schools to in-class learning. One of the more revealing points we covered was that the virus was far less a threat to Chicago children than gun violence.

Data from the Cook County Medical Examiner showed 3 children had died from COVID-19 between Mar. 1 and Jul 22. In comparison, over 46 had already died of gun violence.

It’s hard for us to know just how many fewer youth would have died from gun violence if CPS had opened up months ago, but we’d venture to guess it would have been fewer.

With more experts agreeing that schools are not a COVID-spreading threat, and the negative impacts of keeping students out of school on the rise, CPS should proceed with its reopening plans with all speed.

Seven facts parents and teachers should know about the risks of reopening CPS

Every Illinois school parent, teacher should know these COVID-19 facts

Illinois’ own COVID-19 data reveals the state’s coronavirus policy is upside down

P.S. The statistics for young adult and middle-aged Chicagoans are only “better” when compared with Chicago’s children. Gun violence is still responsible for 50 percent more deaths than COVID-19. Since March 1, 393 Chicagoans aged 20-49 have died from gun violence while 264 died with COVID as their primary cause of death.

Perdue Down in Polls to Leftist Idiot Jon Ossoff — Maybe He Should Stop Slamming Trump?

On Friday Senator David Perdue trashed President Trump in a video interview WITH THE WASHINGTON POST, the day before President Trump is taking time off to go campaign for this jerk in Georgia.

Perdue has DONE NOTHING to address the MASSIVE voter fraud in Georgia.

He quickly threw President Trump under the bus after senile Joe Biden stole the election.

And now he’s on camera TRASHING TRUMP?

What an idiot.

Via Cernovich:

Today Trafalger released its polling on the Georgia senate races.

Kelly Loeffler — who we support and appreciate — is beating the Marxist radical Warnick.

David Perdue is trailing the far left radical Jon Ossoff.

Maybe David Perdue should quit campaigning for Ossoff?

‘Soft power propaganda tools’: US State Department ends five cultural exchange programs with China

The US State Department has axed five exchange programs with Beijing branding them as instruments of propaganda as relations between the states continues to deteriorate.

The cancelled programs are the Policymakers Educational China Trip Program, the US-China Friendship Program, the US-China Leadership Exchange Program, the US-China Transpacific Exchange Program, and the Hong Kong Educational and Cultural Program.

These “one-way” programs were funded and run by Beijing as “soft power propaganda tools,” US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said in a statement.

They provide carefully curated access to Chinese Communist Party officials, not to the Chinese people, who do not enjoy freedoms of speech and assembly.

The affected programs were ostensibly set up to foster bilateral ties and better understanding between Beijing and Washington.

For example, the Policymakers Educational China Trip Program is operated by the US-China Policy Foundation that was launched in 1995. It allows for short tours of US officials across China in order to provide them with “firsthand insight into the significant issues” between the states, according to the program’s website.

In August 2019, a group of American congressional staffers visited Beijing, Shanghai and Kunming, the capital of the southwestern Yunnan province, where they met with various Chinese state officials, diplomats and academics, and did some sightseeing. A similar trip was conducted in April 2019, when a US delegation visited Beijing and the Hainan Island in the South China Sea.

Trump lawyer decries Georgia GOP senators for ‘ties to China’ as Obama says runoff results will ‘determine future’ of Biden term

Rhetoric around the Georgia Senate runoff election is heating up, as Republicans Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue drew the ire of Trump lawyer Lin Wood, while Barack Obama says that a Democrat loss could stall a Biden presidency.

In a series of tweets Friday evening, Wood blasted Loeffler and Perdue, who face a special runoff election in January, for not demanding the Georgia legislature be called into a special session to overturn the election in President Donald Trump’s favor.

Wood claimed both Republicans have ties to China, though he did not provide specific evidence for this accusation.

Sen. Loeffler and her husband, Wood said, “are in over their heads in Communist China money. That is why she does not demand GA legislature be ordered into [special] session. Wake up, GA & America! We must #FightBack against the Communist Wave."

Doug Collins @RepDougCollins won over 50% & @KLoeffler lost. She & her husband are in over their heads in Communist China money. That is why she does not demand GA legislature be ordered into special session.Wake up, GA & America! We must #FightBack against the Communist Wave. https://t.co/A70U151MaO

— Lin Wood (@LLinWood) December 4, 2020

Wood has become an especially controversial figure among Trump supporters and conservatives in light of recent comments encouraging Republicans not to vote in the upcoming runoff election, claiming it will be “another rigged election.” The comments were made at a ‘Stop the Steal’ rally this week highlighting allegations of voter fraud in the presidential election in Georgia, a state Joe Biden has won but Trump has claimed was stolen from him through illegal ballot dumps.

Republicans like Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-Texas) and Newt Gingrich have attacked Wood, with the former referring to him as a Democrat “grifter” and the latter berating him as “totally destructive.”

Wood also accused Sen. David Perdue of “ties to China” and said he asked for a refund in donations from the Republican. Wood also accused Perdue of directly giving these donations to Super PACs - something a candidate is prohibited from doing.

2. When I called Perdue’s office & expressed concern that my donation exceeded the $5,600 limit, I was told it was legal because he gave it to various PAC’s. A candidate cannot directly solicit PAC donations. Something is not right with @sendavidperdue.

— Lin Wood (@LLinWood) December 4, 2020

Yes I would. @sendavidperdue is NOT fighting for We The People to protect our vote & validate landslide GA win by @realDonaldTrump. https://t.co/ms58ESoHS3

— Lin Wood (@LLinWood) December 4, 2020

Wood has even extended the accusations of connections to China to Republican Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger and state election official George Sterling, also a Republican, both of whom he referred to as “traitors” on Saturday for their lack of support for the president.

While Wood has been on Trump’s side when it comes to voter fraud allegations, the lawyer is a troublesome figure for Republicans due to past ties to the Democrat Party. According to The Daily Caller, Wood has not voted in a Republican primary since 2004, and has donated $40,000 to Democrats since 2006.

While Loeffler and Perdue face attacks from Trump’s attorney, they are also dealing with the weight of former President Barack Obama campaigning against them.

‘Operation Mile High’: NYPD busts jet exec in child sex trafficking probe

The CEO of a private jet company was busted for sex trafficking of children across state lines after he was caught trying to sell sex with two underage girls to an undercover agent, the New York Attorney General said.

Paul Alexander, 57, was arrested last week as part of a months-long investigation by the state prosecutor’s office and NYPD Vice Squad dubbed “Operation Mile High” in a nod to Alexander’s role as CEO of Central Jet Charter, Attorney General Letitia James’ office announced in a press release Saturday.

The investigation began in March, when an underage victim reported Alexander to the NYPD, alleging he pimped out and abused her and other girls, the AG said.

An undercover agent posing as a John then met with Alexander, who charged him $300 for sex with 12- and 14-year-old girls.

Alexander also encouraged the agent to ply the girls with marijuana and alcohol to make them more cooperative, according to the press release.

Alexander, a Level 3 registered sex offender, was arraigned Saturday in Bronx County Criminal Court on multiple counts of sex trafficking of a child and related charges.

He is the first to be charged with the newly enacted crime of child sex trafficking in New York state, which carries a steeper penalty than trafficking of adults.

QUESTIONABLE: Ruby Freeman, Georgia’s Suitcase Vote Counter, Solicited ‘Donations’ After Working During Election

The woman exposed as part of the unsupervised overnight Georgia vote count solicited donations on Facebook after finishing her work.

Georgia vote counter Ruby Freeman, who was identified as the mother of the woman who brought in suitcases full of ballots after observers were instructed to leave in a video posted by the Trump Campaign, solicited donations in a Facebook post on November 8, while she likely was still serving as an election worker.

In the Facebook post, Freeman notes that she had worked for 16 hours on Friday, November 6 and that she had not taken a weekend off in three weeks. She also tagged Diamond Nails in her post, indicating where she desired to spend her donated funds.

“I worked 16 hours on Friday,” wrote Freeman. “First weekend off in 3 weeks. Donations accepted,” she added.

Arizona Court Rejects GOP Challenge to Election Results: ‘See You at the Supreme Court’

An Arizona state court on Friday rejected a challenge lodged by Dr. Kelli Ward, the state’s Republican Party chairwoman, prompting celebration from Secretary of State Katie Hobbs (D). However, the Arizona Republican Party indicates that leadership intends to push the challenge to the Supreme Court.

“The court finds no fraud, no misconduct, and no effect on the outcome of the election,” Maricopa County Superior Court Judge Randall Warner ruled. “Plaintiff has not proven that the Biden/Harris ticket did not receive the highest number of votes.”

Ward’s lawsuit claimed that observers were not able to monitor in a meaningful way, and it also “targeted Arizona ballots that election workers duplicated so they could be read by a tabulation machine, which they allege resulted in votes flipping from President Donald Trump to President-elect Joe Biden, and the state’s method for verifying signatures on mail-in ballots,” as Forbes detailed:

The lawsuit also raised concerns about access for election observers, but the judge threw out that portion of the case Thursday, saying the complaint should have been brought earlier and not “when the only remedy would be to upend the entire election.”

The GOP plaintiffs asked the court at a hearing Friday to order the state to inspect duplicated and adjudicated ballots, claiming without evidence that there could be enough uncounted votes for Trump to change the election results.

Hobbs, who has a history of public disdain for President Trump and his supporters, even referring to Trump’s base as neo-Nazis, praised the ruling.

“The allegations in this case were baseless, and I had faith the court would continue to do the right thing. Today’s ruling affirms that faith. As we argued in court, it is time for this to stop,” she said, describing the claims of fraud, error, and misconduct as “vague” and “unsupported.” She also asserted the claims were “undermining the foundation of our democracy” — an assertion she made last month after rejecting a request for an independent analysis of voting data.

“Facts matter in a court of law, & the facts remain that this historic election had tremendous turnout and was both secure and accurate,” she added:

Swedish Terror Expert: It’s Very Difficult to Prosecute Returned ISIS Members

Swedish terrorism expert Magnus Ranstorp has said it is incredibly difficult for the state to prosecute Islamic State members who have returned from the Middle East, due to a lack of evidence.

Ranstorp’s comments come after the security police (Säpo) arrested and questioned a Swedish ISIS member earlier this week, after she had returned from Syria.

According to Ranstorp, such questioning is relatively routine for Islamic State returnees, noting that Sweden is currently conducting 40 similar investigations for various crimes including war crimes, genocide, and crimes against humanity, broadcaster SVT reports.

The terrorism expert said that getting successful convictions in Islamic State returnee cases, however, is difficult.

Referencing to the woman who was arrested on Monday, he said: “If you don’t have digital tracks or testimonies, it’s very difficult to get her convicted of anything.”

Swedish Terror Expert: Do Not Allow ISIS Women to Return to Sweden https://t.co/B9oWdsYk9X

— Breitbart London (@BreitbartLondon) May 23, 2019

“Anyone who has contact with IS can be classified as dangerous. But exactly how dangerous she is cannot be determined without knowing her psychological state or beliefs or exactly what she did [in Syria],” he added.

Ranstorp has criticised Sweden’s legal structures in the past and its ability to convict Swedish ISIS members, specifically female fighters, saying that neighbouring Norway has laws that are far better at dealing with returnees.

“As Norway has functioning terror legislation, the Norwegian women should be brought home and prosecuted. The child welfare service should take care of the children,” he had said in May 2019.

“But I do not think the Swedish women and the children [should] come back. We do not have a good system to take care of them and make sure they are not dangerous,” he added.

Sweden has seen ISIS members return in the last several years, one of whom temporarily returned for medical treatment and travelled back to fight for the terror group after he was healed.

DEA Arrests El Paso Cop Accused of Helping Drug Dealer

Federal authorities arrested a police officer from the Texas border city of El Paso for allegedly helping a local drug distributor. The police officer stands accused of carrying out countersurveillance operations and leaking license plates of undercover vehicles to the alleged drug dealer.

On Friday morning, the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and El Paso Police Department arrested 23-year-old Monica Garcia, a local police officer who allegedly helped a local drug dealer continue his operations. While Garcia’s criminal charges remain under seal, information released by the U.S. Department of Justice revealed that she had been reportedly helping 44-year-old Fred Saenz with his alleged drug dealing business by leaking license plate information and helping him with counter-surveillance.

The case began in August when El Paso Police and the DEA began investigating Saenz who is accused of running a local cocaine distribution operation, the criminal complaint filed in his case revealed. After several months of surveillance, and undercover buys of cocaine, authorities raided two homes tied to Saenz where they seized $14,500 in cash and three pounds of cocaine. The court case against Saenz continues to have redacted names and it remains unclear if there are other suspects in addition to Garcia tied to the case.

According to the DOJ, Garcia could face up to 20 years in prison if convicted for leaking information and helping Saenz protect his drug trafficking operation. Court documents did not reveal if Saenz is directly connected to one of the Mexican drug cartels that operate just south of El Paso such as La Linea from the Juarez Cartel or one of the factions of the Sinaloa Cartel.

WATCH: Fierce Cartel Gun Battle in Mexico Rocks Border City

A fierce cartel shootout rocked a Mexican border city as gunmen fired hundreds of rounds of ammunition. The attack is the most recent clash between cartels battling over control of lucrative smuggling routes into Texas. The clash took place just hours before a cartel smuggler in Texas ran thru a border checkpoint as he tried to escape authorities by fleeing to Mexico.

The gunbattle took place on early Wednesday morning in Miguel Aleman, Tamaulipas, just south of Roma, Texas, as the Gulf Cartel and the Cartel Del Noreste faction of Los Zetas fought for control of the region’s smuggling routes. A video recorded by a citizen journalist and shared on social media captured the intensity of the gun battle. Numerous machine guns are heard firing non-stop just south of the international port of entry.

— Loba Indomable (@loba_indomable) December 3, 2020

As Breitbart Texas reported, the CDN-Los Zetas has been making a series of incursions in and around the border cities of Miguel Aleman and Camargo in an attempt to take over a 43-mile long span of territories without physical border barriers. That area, known as La Riberena, is called the crown jewel of the Gulf Cartel as the criminal organization historically moved ton-quantities of drugs and smuggled thousands of migrants through the region for several years with relative ease.

The gun battles between the CDG and the CDN-Los Zetas continue to escalate in intensity as both sides utilize machine guns along with armored vehicles and explosives in their clashes.
