6-Alarm Fire in NYC Almost Burns Down 128-Year-Old Church in Manhattan

The fire occured at 48 East 7th St., in Manhattan, New York City, in a building next to a local land mark, the Middle Collegiate church, built in 1891. The cause of the fire remains unknown, as firefighters continue to put out the flames while an investigation on its origins has been started by authorities.

A vacant building in New York's East Village was engulfed in flames on early Saturday morning. The fire spread to a 128-year-old church standing next to it, destroying the roof and growing into a 6-alarm fire, the New York Fire Department said in a statement.

The fire, initially designated as 4-alarm, quickly grew to be a 6-alarm fire spreading to nearby buildings, including the church, destroying its roof completely, while the building itself was "all but destroyed" according to the firefighters.

According to statements published on its official Twitter page, FDNY Commissioner Daniel A. Nigro arrived on scene to coordinate the fight and assess the damage.

According to a department assistant fire chief, John Hudgens, FDNY units arrived on the scene within three minutes of receiving the call shortly before 5 a.m.

"We quickly transmitted additional alarms to get additional help here", he said in a statement. "We knew this was going to be a big operation. We were able to contain it to that area. We are going to be operating here for a while".

At the time the fire was defined as a 5-alarm, requiring about 200 firefighters and 44 FDNY units to put it out. Four of the city's fire fighters suffered "minor injuries", according to Hodgens.

Spectator Mag, ‘GB News’ Chief Andrew Neil Admits ‘Pro Immigration, Pro Amnesty’ Ideology

The ostensibly right-leaning Spectator magazine’s Chairman has admitted his platform is “pro-immigration” and “pro amnesty for illegal immigrants.” Andrew Neil is supposed to launch the Fox News-style “GB News” channel in the United Kingdom later this year.

Neil took offense when connected with the conservative, nationalist Hungarian government on Twitter. The 25-year BBC veteran, who has made a living off running a notionally conservative magazine, finally revealed his and his magazine’s true position.

Responding to someone pointing out that Neil and the Spectator had held an event with a Hungarian government-linked think tank, he responded:

“Some columnists might like Orban. I don’t. Nor does magazine’s editorial. It is generally pro-immigration, supports amnesty for illegal immigrants, UK entry for 3m Hong Kongers. You are shit-stirring I’ll stop there.”

Instead of embracing the most conservative, pro-family government in Europe, the Chairman of the 191-year-old Spectator magazine robustly distanced himself and his publication.

This, however, only after the Spectator had partnered with the Hungarian government to host an event in 2018. Such event are usually lucrative to media partners such as the Spectator.

Discovery is also believed to have secured an option to buy out the network after several years.

The Spectator also runs an American version of their magazine: The Spectator USA, which also falls under the remit of the company’s pro-immigration, pro-amnesty Chairman.

Outbreak of Coronavirus at MDC May Delay Raniere Prison Assignment & Survival Advice for Raniere as a Chomo in Prison

BROOKLYN, NY: Fifty-five new cases of Covid 19 were confirmed between Tuesday and Thursday at the Brooklyn Metropolitan Detention Center. The total known number of those infected is 80, according to numbers compiled by the Bureau of Prison.

Prior to Tuesday, there had only been 25 confirmed cases since March.

The low numbers of coronavirus cases at MDC prior to this past week were more likely caused by a lack of testing.

Presently housed at MDC are Keith Alan Raniere, Clare Webb Bronfman, and Ghislaine Maxwel -, along with some 1000 plus other residents, most of whom are pre-trial detainees who were unable to obtain bail. Maxwell is a pre-trial detainee. Raniere and Bronfman have been sentenced and are awaiting permanent prison placement.

It has not been confirmed if any of these high profile prisoners have Covid -19.

The outbreak might cause a delay in placing Raniere and Bronfman in a permanent prison.

The facility is reportedly on lockdown which means prisoners are confined to their cells all day and night and maximum segregation is imposed. Food is served in cells during lockdowns instead of at the tables set up in the units for that purpose.

On lockdown, the commissary is closed. Showers are reduced to once or twice a week. Phone calls are limited or suspended. Visits are suspended. Life for prisoners is the tedium of their small cells, with their bed, a toilet and sink, and sometimes a desk.

With everyone on lockdown, the black market is virtually closed.

Tear gas & burning cars: 22 arrested following clashes between protesters & police in Paris

A thousands-strong protest march against the French government’s draft security bill in Paris has ended up in chaos as groups of “rioters” torched cars, broke windows and clashed with police responding with tear gas.

Thousands of demonstrators set out from Porte des Lilas on the northeastern edge of the French capital on Saturday and headed to the Place de la République in the city center. The marchers sought to express their discontent over police violence and President Emmanuel Macron’s security policy plans.

The marchers were waving banners reading: “France, land of police rights” and “Withdrawal of the security law.”

The march almost immediately descended into violence, as groups of black-clad protesters with covered faces started smashing windows and burning cars. Soon, the streets in eastern Paris were plunged into chaos as demonstrators erected barricades and set them on fire.

While protesters chanted “everyone hates the police” and “anti-capitalists,” some in the thronging crowds broke windows in several buildings, including a supermarket, a real estate agency and a bank, and set cars – including a truck – ablaze. They were also seen destroying CCTV cameras along their route and pelting police with firecrackers and various projectiles.

Law enforcement were deployed to the streets in large numbers and responded with volleys of tear gas. Police officers clad in helmets and riot gear also attempted to disperse the crowds.

Footage uploaded to social media show Paris streets filled with thick plumes of tear gas, littered with debris and lit by the burning cars and barricades. On several occasions, the rioters managed to force the police to retreat by pelting the officers with firecrackers.

Police said that the demonstration was “infiltrated” by at least 500 “rioters” seeking to sow chaos. French Interior Minister Gerard Darmanin confirmed that at least 22 people were arrested, and thanked the police for their courage in the face of “very violent individuals.”

A very aggrieved Brzezinski attacked Republicans about coronavirus measures, as it pertains to mask mandates, as her co-host husband Joe Scarborough cracked jokes and laughed at her hostile temperament towards "his friends."

During a discussion about Joe Biden's call for Americans to wear face masks for 100 days, Brzezinski remarked on how "quickly the numbers would change" with a mask mandate and compliance.

Brzezinski then addressed Scarborough's "friends" and "some of the Republicans," who have not pushed face masks as fervently and forcibly as Democrats.

She denounced Republican politicians "who've been standing by as stooges to President Trump, not stepping up for the American people and their safety and, quite frankly, stepping up against the president's stupidity and cruelty, not being a leader on this coronavirus."

"Honestly, honestly, how stupid can you be at this point?" an annoyed Brzezinski questioned rhetorically, as reported by Mediaite. "If you just actually read about it, learn about it, how stupid can you be to be so arrogant and to be so flip about this when we have numbers like this? How crazy are you?"

Brzezinski asked, "And I wonder if your friends and those Republicans will actually admit that actually doing basic things to mitigate this virus would have changed the course of this pandemic?"

California personal trainer arrested after children found decapitated in his home

A personal trainer was arrested after authorities found his son and daughter decapitated in separate bedrooms inside his California home.

First responders with the Los Angeles County Fire Department made the gruesome discovery on Friday while investigating reports of a possible gas leak at the Lancaster residence. Authorities arrested Maurice Taylor Sr. on the scene on suspicion of killing the 12-year-old boy and a 13-year-old girl.

He’s being held on a $2 million bond.

One of Taylor’s clients told the Los Angeles Times she became worried when he failed to send a Zoom link for a scheduled training session, prompting her to call the authorities and requested that they check on Taylor.

“I knew they weren’t out of town,” the client said. “They didn’t have money to travel.”

The mayor of Lancaster, R. Rex Parris, confirmed that both victims were decapitated. He speculated that the economy, the closure of schools and public places amid the coronavirus pandemic, paired with close living quarters sparked a stressful environment for the family.

“The social fabric of the country and the world has been shredded, and we are starting to see the aftermath,” Parris said. “What I’m seeing is more and more people feeling desperate, and that can only have one result.”

The incident remains under investigation.
