I understand, anon.
I left the service in 2014, or I suppose one could say I opted not to re-enlist. I got rather disillusioned and saw the CoC change its demeanor toward a course I felt would lead it to ordering me contrary to my oath.
That, and I just didn't see a path forward for me in the military. I didn't fight hard enough for quals or other such things early on and I got promoted largely because I had solid evals and could blow a test clear out of the water.
Which kind of put me in a weird position of lacking many of the fundamental experiences that would be expected of me as a work center supervisor and yet too high ranking to be a bolt turner which is honestly where I needed to be placed to get the quals and experience to be competitive.
I was also getting a bit on the old side to go mustang for flying and would have faced extremely tough competition.
And I did think about Team Six for devgru, as they scouted me before a command change at one time - but that put me even closer to Obama and I wanted none of that shit.
So, I decided to take it civie life. There are pros and cons. I would love to go back for developmental work or even see what space force has going… So we shall see where things go. I also quite like the idea of running my own show.
