why would a reasonable, faithful guy leave office the day before a new president is sworn in?

why leave the 'esteemed' dept of justice vulnerable?

Wouldn't the appropriate thing be to stay and make sure a 'smooth transisition' takes place?

 

If this IS true, it just means that Trump is staying and Barr's placeholding time is complete.
