Sidney Powell: âWeâre Going to Proceed with an Emergency Appeal â We Expect to Get Relief from Supreme Courtâ
Attorney Sidney Powell went on with Greg Kelly Monday night on Newsmax TV.
This was after US District Court Judge Timothy Batton through out her voter fraud case in Georgia earlier in the day.
Sidney Powell told Kelly she will proceed to immediately with an emergency appeal and expects to get relief from the Supreme Court.
Newsmax reported:
A federal judge listened to oral arguments Monday, but he had already prejudged the case in granting leftist âinterveners'â motions of dismiss, including the Democrat National Committee, according to former federal prosecutor Sidney Powell on Newsmax TV.
âThe court wouldnât pay attention of it,â Powell told Mondayâs âGreg Kelly Reportsâ of her lawsuit calling for the decertification of Georgiaâs election results amid evidence of election and voter fraud. âItâs obvious the judge had made up his mind before he hit the bench, and he read from prepared notes when he granted the motion to dismissâŚ
âŚU.S. District Court Judge Timothy Batten ruled the case had no standing to sue, the case belonged in state court, was filed too late, and the relief sought was âextraordinary.â
âWeâre going to proceed immediately with an emergency appeal, and we expect to get relief in the Supreme Court,â Powell told host Greg Kelly.

George Gascon, L.A.âs Soros-Funded D.A., Sworn in; Ends Cash Bail, Death Penalty
George Gascon, the new George Soros-backed Los Angeles District Attorney, was sworn in on Monday, and immediately ended the use of cash bail for most crimes, while also barring prosecutors from seeking the death penalty in new cases.
Gascon appeared poised to do for L.A. what he did for San Francisco, a city now synonymous with petty crime, drug abuse, and sidewalk defecation. The out-of-town âprogressiveâ ousted Jackie Lacey, the first African American woman to hold the office, with the support of millions from Soros, Californiaâs left-wing establishment, and Black Lives Matter activists.
L.A. Mayor Eric Garcetti initially backed Lacey, but then dumped her and backed Gascon after a summer of protests and riots.
The Los Angeles Times reported:
Los Angeles County Dist. Atty. George GascĂłn announced sweeping policy changes as he took office Monday, including a plan to end the use of cash bail in the nationâs largest court system and a ban on his prosecutors seeking sentencing enhancements in nearly all cases.
âŚ
GascĂłn also said he expects to bring an end to misdemeanor prosecutions of most first-time, nonviolent offenders.
âŚ
During his contentious campaign against the incumbent D.A., Jackie Lacey, GascĂłn had vowed more big changes, including barring prosecutors from seeking the death penalty in new cases and to end the practice of trying juveniles as adults. He followed through on both of those campaign promises Monday, announcing them among the slew of new policies he is implementing.
The moves have already drawn concerns from the ranks of the 1,200 deputy district attorneys who will now serve under GascĂłn, some of whom have complained that the new top prosecutor drew up many of these new positions without input from the office he is now set to oversee.
Local Fox affiliate KTTV 11 added:
Prosecutors will no longer request cash bail for any misdemeanor, non-serious or non-violent offense, GascĂłn announced. Prosecutors will still be able to request bail in very serious offenses articulated in the constitution until Jan 1. By Jan 1, GascĂłnâs office will detail infrastructure and specifics to end cash bail altogether, instead seeking detention when deemed necessary.
âŚ
Additionally, the DAâs office will no longer seek enhancements of any kind (i.e. gang enhancements, three strikes, etc.), saying they undermine rehabilitation, exacerbate racial inequities and unnecessarily crowd jails and prisons. This policy will also be retroactive. The office estimates there could be up 30,000 cases eligible for re-sentencing.
Kim Kardashian â who has worked with President Donald Trump on prison reform â praised Gascon on Twitter:
Soros has spent millions backing left-wing prosecutors across the country, reshaping criminal justice as left-wing activists â many also backed by Soros â march in the streets demanding âdefund the police.â Crime is up in major cities nationwide.

Virginia County Rebels Against Gov. Northam's Lockdown Restrictions - Declares Itself "First Amendment Sanctuary"
Campbell County, Virginia has rejected Democratic Governor Ralph Northam's coronavirus restrictions - declaring itself a "First Amendment sanctuary" in a resolution which makes it the first locality in the state to openly resist Northam's orders.
The County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved the measure last week in response to Northam's pre-Thanksgiving limits on public gatherings to 25 people or fewer, as well as an extension on the state's mask mandate to include children over the age of five. Restaurants are also prohibited from selling alcohol after 10 p.m.
Campbell County's resolution requests that the sheriff's department refuse to assist any official - state or federal - in "attempting to enforce the unconstitutional order of the Governor."
The rebellious decision echoes a 2019 measure in which the county (which voted 71% for Trump in the 2020 election) declared itself a "Second Amendment sanctuary" as one of several counties and cities which passed similar measures rejecting new gun-control laws in the commonwealth, according to WAVY.
A group known as the Virginia Constitutional Conservatives has played a vital role in the latest push to reject statewide guidelines, drafting a template resolution online that proposes bold provisions for constitutional officers to follow.
The template calls for local law enforcement to arrest âany State Police officer, State Health Agent, or Federal Agentâ who attempts to enforce the governorâs order and for commonwealthâs attorneys ânot prosecute the unconstitutional mandates prohibiting the peopleâs right to peaceably assemble.â Failure to follow these clauses âwill result in the immediate removal of County funding.â -WAVY
The resolution approved by Campbell County's board excludes language threatening budgets of sheriff's departments and local prosecutors.
Matt Cline, a supervisor who represents the County's Concord district, called Northam's order yet another example of government overreach.
"The governorâs order restricts the First Amendment and this resolution is in support of the rights of the citizens. Local businesses are struggling, these are real problems, not a political issue," Cline said last Wednesday. "It isnât right or left, these are real problems, just as covid is real."
"Itâs important to note whatâs not in this resolution as well," he added. "It doesnât say be cavalier, or that covid is a hoax. And it doesnât say donât wear a mask. Itâs the responsibility of the individual." Campbell, located near Lynchburg, has had an average of 16 new COVID-19 cases per day in the last week out of its population of 55,000 according to the state's health department.

Orange County Sheriff: Weâre Not Enforcing âUnfairâ and Unconstitutional COVID Rules
On Mondayâs broadcast of the Fox News Channelâs âFox & Friends,â Orange County, CA Sheriff Don Barnes said that his office will not enforce Californiaâs newest coronavirus restrictions because the restrictions arenât fair to law enforcement or county residents and donât pass constitutional muster. Barnes also argued that itâs contradictory to restrict the ability of law enforcement to do its job, but then demand they âarrest lawful residents of the county who are just trying to make ends meet, and are doing so by following the rules.â
Barnes said, âItâs been a long year for everybody. We know that. Itâs been very impactful upon all of the businesses and residents of Orange County and California. But I just donât think that itâs something that falls in line with a law enforcement priority. We have many other responsibilities that weâre dealing with, many responsibilities really arenât ours that weâre dealing with, homelessness, mental illness, substance use disorder. And to lay on this one more additional expectation, I think is not only fair â or unfair to law enforcement, to the residents of Orange County, but itâs just unfair overall. I donât think it stands the constitutional test.â
He added, âEvery one of the businesses that are operating have met the expectations of the state. ⌠Itâs like the goalposts keep moving ten yards back, week by week.â
Barnes further stated, âWhen you look at this year for law enforcement, after Minneapolis, the California legislature made it its mission to defund the police, to change the rules, to come out with new legislation that would restrict the way we can do our job. So, on one hand, youâre saying, we want you to stop doing things that would result in actions against the community, and on the other hand, weâre saying, but not this time, the rules are different. Go out and arrest people. And Iâm not sure that we ever want to be in a position where law enforcement [operates] with that mission in mind to go out and arrest lawful residents of the county who are just trying to make ends meet, and are doing so by following the rules.â

INDICTED: CEO Paid Former Coach $1.5 Million In Bribes To Get His Sons Accepted To Harvard, Feds Say
BOSTON â The former fencing coach at Harvard College and a Maryland businessman were indicted by a federal grand jury today in Boston with conspiring to secure the admission of the businessmanâs two sons to Harvard in exchange for bribes totaling more than $1.5 million.
Peter Brand, 67, of Cambridge, Mass., and Jie âJackâ Zhao, 61, of Potomac, Md., were indicted on one count of conspiracy to commit federal programs bribery. Brand and Zhao were also each charged with one count of federal programs bribery. Brand and Zhao were arrested and charged by criminal complaint on Nov. 16, 2020.
According to the charging documents, Brand, the former head coach of menâs and womenâs fencing at Harvard, conspired with Zhao, the chief executive of a telecommunications company, to facilitate the admission of Zhaoâs sons to Harvard by recruiting them to join the menâs fencing team in exchange for money.
It is alleged that in or about May 2012, Brand told a co-conspirator, âJack doesnât need to take me anywhere and his boys donât have to be great fencers. All I need is a good incentive to recruit them[.] You can tell him that[.]â In February 2013, as part of the alleged scheme, Zhao made a purported donation of $1 million to a fencing charity founded by a co-conspirator. Zhaoâs older son was admitted to Harvard as a fencing recruit in December 2013, and matriculated in the fall of 2014. Shortly thereafter, the charity passed $100,000 on to the Peter Brand Foundation, a charitable entity established by Brand and his spouse. Thereafter, Zhao began making payments to, or for the benefit of, Brand.
In total, Zhao made over $1.5 million in payments to Brand, or for Brandâs personal benefit, even as Brand recruited Zhaoâs younger son to the Harvard fencing team. Zhao allegedly paid for Brandâs car, made college tuition payments for Brandâs son, paid the mortgage on Brandâs Needham residence, and later purchased the residence for well above its market value, thus allowing Brand to purchase a more expensive residence in Cambridge that Zhao then paid to renovate. Zhaoâs younger son matriculated to Harvard in 2017. Brand allegedly did not disclose the payments to Harvard when recruiting Zhaoâs sons.

"Don't Need Congress - Just Flick Of Pen": Schumer Demands Day 1 Biden $50K Student Debt Cancelation
"You donât need Congress - All you need is the flick of a pen," Sen. Minority Leader Chuck Schumer demanded of President-Elect Joe Biden during a Monday press conference outside his Midtown Manhattan office, continuing to pile on the pressure for a controversial immediate student debt forgiveness of $50,000 for each and every borrower (with the exception of course for all who've previously dutifully paid off their debt).
Schumer is urging Biden to act on the very first day he takes office after January 20. "We have come to the conclusion that President Biden can undo this debt, can forgive $50,000 of debt the first day he becomes president," he said.
But given that analysts speaking from the perspective of both sides of the aisle are unanimous in saying there's no way the Schumer-Warren plan would ever get past Congress, Schumer is pushing for an "overnight" solution to what would be the inevitable impasse crucially without legislation.
Biden has previously vowed to forgive up to $10,000 in student debt for all (with an additional slashing of all debt for public university and Black college attendees whose families are below a certain income level); however, progressives are angered that it's 'simply not enough' especially amid the coronavirus pandemic, they argue.
