About a minute in the guy tells a story about how in 2015 President Xi was coming to US and ahead of the visit China published a book in English to "warm things up for him".
To quote him:
It was in 2015, before the second last time President Xi visited US everybody in the system needed to warm things up for him. The way one organization in the party did the warmup was to gain some publicity, the book "Xi Jinping: The Governance of China" we will launch it's first English edition in US by having a press conference before his arrival to build him some momentum. Who will do this job? Just like today they thought I'm very good at fooling the aliens (mistranslated foreigners?) because they saw how I conned them which they thought was very effective. So I would be the host and part of the panel. It was just like what we are doing today, I being the host and a speaker.
The high officials picked the venue, told us to go to Politics and Prose 3:30pm next Thursday. It's on the Connecticut Ave, Washington, no 2650 I think. We'll publish the book there.
