Oh let me tell you about the one time one tried to steal our pontiac torrent and we ended up getting a free GMC acadia.

We were shopping around for an acadia and we went around to a few dealerships to get price quotes.

One of them tried to claim that the piece of paper she signed that contained the prive on the acadia constituted a contract and executed the transfer of titles assuming we wanted to trade in the pontiac torrent for the acadia without us having given them any money, or signed a purchase agreement.

About a week after we told him to fuck off (in writing) that we didn't like his price and had no interest in pursuing the vehicle purchase from him the title for the acadia shows up in the mail. We're like whatever, and ignored it. A couple days later some cops show up cause the little shit reported the torrent "stolen".

I went to the state attorney general's office with the whole stack of paper including the certified mail stub thatthat proved we sent the letter telling him to fuck off.

We walked out of that ag's office with clear title to both vehicles, a court order for the dealership to fork that fucking acadia over to us immediately, and then he dropped fraud charges on the specific dealer that executed the transfers of title to boot.

Why did we get the acadia? Because of 39 U.S. Code § 3009.Mailing of unordered merchandise.

(a)Except for (1) free samples clearly and conspicuously marked as such, and (2) merchandise mailed by a charitable organization soliciting contributions, the mailing of unordered merchandise or of communications prohibited by subsection (c) of this section constitutes an unfair method of competition and an unfair trade practice in violation of section 45(a)(1) of title 15.

(b)Any merchandise mailed in violation of subsection (a) of this section, or within the exceptions contained therein, may be treated as a gift by the recipient, who shall have the right to retain, use, discard, or dispose of it in any manner he sees fit without any obligation whatsoever to the sender. All such merchandise shall have attached to it a clear and conspicuous statement informing the recipient that he may treat the merchandise as a gift to him and has the right to retain, use, discard, or dispose of it in any manner he sees fit without any obligation whatsoever to the sender.
