TODAY’S SAFE HARBOR DEADLINE Applies to States with Settled Legal Disputes However Six Battleground States Are In Limbo Due to Colossal Fraud and Related Court Cases

Today is what is known as ‘Safe Harbor’ Day. Any states which have settled legal disputes and have certified results are presumably free from further legal challenges. Unfortunately, there was colossal fraud and as a result numerous cases are still in the courts.

An individual on FOX News says about today:

Federal law (3 U.S. Code § 5) frees a state from further challenge if it settles legal disputes and certifies its results at least six days before the Electoral College meeting, which occurs this year on Dec. 14.

Many people argue that in the states where Republicans were illegally and forcefully prevented from reviewing the election, the results should be made void. Others believe that the results in states which did not have a winner declared on election day should be made void as well since the Constitution demands the election takes place on Election Day and not days and weeks after Election Day. There is actually a legal argument submitted to the Supreme Court making this case.

In addition to the overarching arguments concerning the 2020 election, here is what we currently know – a number of states have been called but there are at least six states still in question (none of which declared a winner on election night).

Pennsylvania – perhaps no state in US history was involved in more fraud during an election than Pennsylvania this year. President Trump was up by 700,000 votes on election night but then ballots started appearing out of nowhere to give Biden the lead. We now know that truckloads of ballots were shipped from New York to Pennsylvania in the days surrounding the election.

Admiral Giroir Slams Bans On Outdoor Dining As Without Scientific Basis

Just before I was interviewed today on Fox about ongoing challenges to shutdown orders, Admiral Brett Giroir was interviewed and gave what must have been welcomed views on the science behind pandemic orders. A hearing is scheduled tomorrow in one of the challenges by businesses in California to the lockdown ordered by Governor Gavin Newsom. Giroir however stated that there was no evidence or science supporting the type of categorical lockdown in states like California, particularly bans on outdoor dining. The statement presents a potential conflict with Dr. Anthony Fauci. It certainly contradicts the common narrative in the media and the recent election. Giroir is a widely respected public health expert who has reinforced a calm and science-based approach to the White House Coronavirus Task Force.

As I discussed, courts have been applying greater scrutiny to these pandemic orders. The initial deference afforded to pandemic order tends to wane with time. The first such shift came predictably with challenges based on the contravention of constitutional rights, particularly the free exercise of religion under the First Amendment. Such challenges have the advantage of the higher standard of strict scrutiny.

Now, however, there are renewed challenges for businesses under the lower standard of the rational basis test.

This is due to the contradiction of some orders with known science or data on transmission rates and sources.

For example, through the election, Democrats suggested that President Donald Trump was effectively trying to kill children by pushing to reopen schools, including Washington Post columnist Jennifer Rubin. Rubin has previously shown a disregard of the factual foundation for her allegations. Yet, Democrats have maintained until recently that schools must be closed due to the high risk of transmission despite growing scientific evidence to the contrary.

BlueCrest Fined $170MM For Secretly Replacing Top Traders Managing Outside Money With Underperforming Algos

Back in 2015, after a series of disappointing years prompted clients to pull money from the underperforming BlueCrest Capital Management, Michael Platt announced plans to return all outside capital to investors and transition into a private investment partnership that would manage money for its partners and employees. It proved to be a brilliant decision as the fund has been on a tear since then, generating returns of 50% in 2016, 54% in 2017, 25% in 2018 when the average hedge fund lost money, and 50% in 2019.

We now know why BlueCrest performed so poorly when managing outside money and was Medallion reincarnated when managing its own.

On Tuesday, the SEC announced that BlueCrest agreed to pay $170 million to investors to settle a U.S. regulator’s allegations that it misled clients and did not disclose that it transfered its top traders from its flagship client fund, BlueCrest Capital International (BCI), to a proprietary internal fund, BSMA Limited, and replaced those traders with an "underperforming algorithm." The stealthy transfer, which took place from October 2011 through December 2015 when BlueCrest returned outside capital, resulted in losses of at least $170 million to investors.

The order finds that BlueCrest did not disclose certain material facts about the algorithm to BCI’s independent directors. According to the order, the algorithm generated significantly less profit with greater volatility than the live traders. The order finds that BlueCrest was able to keep more of any performance fees generated by the algorithm than by live traders.

"BlueCrest repeatedly failed to act in the best interests of its investors, including by not disclosing that it was transferring its highest-performing traders to a fund that benefitted its own personnel to the detriment of its fund investors,” said Stephanie Avakian, Director of the SEC’s Division of Enforcement. "This settlement holds BlueCrest responsible for its conduct and furthers the SEC’s goal of returning funds to harmed investors."

"An adviser’s disclosures to investors and prospective investors in funds they manage must be accurate,” said Adam Aderton, Co-Chief of the SEC’s Asset Management Unit. “BlueCrest investors were marketed a fund with exceptional trading talent but instead got a fund with an undisclosed algorithm that performed worse than those touted traders."

The SEC also found that BlueCrest failed to disclose that it reallocated the transferred traders’ capital allocations in BCI to a semi-systematic trading system, which was essentially a replication algorithm that tracked certain trading activity of a subset of BlueCrest’s live traders.

In other words, when managing its own money, the macro fund would dedicate its best traders to come up with the top trades, and not only that but it would effectively frontrun its clients! Then, when the time came to manage client money, BlueCrest basically used a simply copycat algo to piggyback on its top trades but only after the management team was already in the positions, thus giving it substantial firepower to generate alpha simply by having billions in fund flows rush into the same trades it had already put on, creating a feedback loop.

We wonder if BlueCrest also unloaded its own positions by selling them to its own clients.

In any case, we certainly doubt BlueCrest is alone in this particular eggregious violation of fiduciary standards, and wonder if a similar bait-and-switch is also why RenTec's internal Medallion fund outperforms the outside client-facing RIEF funds every single year.

Hong Kong Arrests 8 More Pro-Democracy Activists As Opposition Crackdown Intensifies

As Britain processes hundreds of visa applications for Hong Kongers seeking to flee the territory now that Beijing has extinguished its Democratic freedoms, local police on Tuesday continued their roundup of top opposition officials after sentencing two former student activists to brief prison terms and denying bail to one of the island's most visible media moguls.

Hong Kong police arrested eight more activists on Tuesday over an anti-government protest in July, the latest move by authorities in a relentless crackdown on opposition forces in the Chinese-ruled city. Meanwhile, at least one former opposition lawmaker from Hong Kong's LegCo - all 19 opposition lawmakers quit en masse last month - has fled to Europe and been granted asylum in the UK, a move that will likely infuriate Beijing.

Perhaps in an attempt to prevent anybody else from running off, Beijing is rounding up and arresting activists left and right. On Tuesday morning in Hong Kong, it was reported that police had arrested another 8 activities between the ages of 24 and 64. One day earlier, police arrested 8 activists said to be between the ages of 16 and 36. None of their names were released.

The latest activists were charged with participating in a skirmish with police on July 1, the anniversary of the colony's handover to China from the UK. More than 300 people were arrested during the demonstration. Participants were protesting the new national security law, which had just been approved by top CCP leaders in Beijing and signed by President Xi.

The police did not identify the people, saying only that they were aged between 24 and 64. Local media said former pro-democracy lawmaker and veteran activist Leung Kwok-hung, known as Long Hair, was among those arrested.

The move comes a day after eight people aged between 16 and 34 were arrested, including three on suspicion of violating a sweeping national security law, over a brief demonstration at a university campus last month.

Hong Kong police fired water cannon and tear gas to disperse protesters on July 1, the anniversary of the former British colony’s handover to Chinese rule, as thousands demonstrated despite a police ban on the annual protest.

In an attempt to discourage Beijing from robbing Hong Kongers of their democratic feedoms and closing a long time "gateway to the West", the Trump Administration slapped new sanctions and travel restrictions on 14 CCP officials believed to be responsible. The Trump Administration also recently stopped issuing visas longer than 1 month for any known members of the CCP trying to visit the US.

Still, Beijing is doing a pretty good job of making it clear that Hong Kong is no longer safe for those who assiduously supported the pro-democracy movement.

US Pension Money Flows into Chinese Companies: State Department

As everyone starts to relax a little bit about the stock market and our 401Ks news from the US State Department says we may be unwittingly financing our most serious threat

As the stock markets start to settle down after the tumultuous year that was 2020, many people are starting to breathe a little easier about their 401Ks. But the US State Department says that we all may be unwittingly fueling the biggest threat to our country.

Unbeknownst to many US investors, their financial investments are tied to the Communist Chinese and its military via major index funds. This news comes in a newly released fact sheet compiled by the State Department titled, “US Investors Are Funding Malign PRC Companies on Major Indices.”

This publication lists the names of publicly traded companies that present a national security threat to the United States, and states, “The Chinese Communist Party’s threat to American national security extends into our financial markets and impacts American investors.”

Many investment vehicles developed by index providers Morgan Stanley Capital International (MSCI) and Financial Times Stock Exchange Group (FTSE) include Communist Chinese companies blacklisted by the Pentagon and the US Department of Commerce.

Securities of many Communist Chinese companies are embedded in MSCI and FTSE exchange-traded funds (ETFs) and other reflexive investment funds benchmarked against these major indexes.

The fact sheet exposes the very disturbing fact that many of the US workforce’s pension assets are supporting these Communist Chinese companies.

Through its aggressive national strategy called “Military-Civil Fusion,” the Chinese Communist Party employs the financial successes of Chinese corporations to strengthen the People’s Liberation Army.

The US Department of Defense has blacklisted 31 Chinese firms this year alone that are either owned, controlled, or both by the People’s Liberation Army.

According to the State Department fact sheet, at least 22 of these militarized companies have associated entities whose securities are included on the MSCI EM index or FTSE Emerging index.

This scheme has also infiltrated the bond markets included in the Bloomberg Barclays Global Aggregate Bond index.

Report: Alleged Chinese Spy Raised Money For Eric Swalwell, Planted Intern In His Office

An alleged Chinese spy bundled campaign contributions for California Rep. Eric Swalwell and planted an intern in the Democrat’s congressional office, according to a new report.

U.S. intelligence officials said that Christine Fang, the alleged Chinese operative, cozied up to multiple politicians in the California Bay Area between 2011 and 2015 at the direction of China’s Ministry of State Security, its internal spy agency, Axios reported Monday night.

Meanwhile, John Ratcliffe, the director of national intelligence, revealed in a Thursday opinion piece for The Wall Street Journal that Chinese agents have targeted U.S. lawmakers more than any other country, including Russia and Iran, in order to shape U.S. policy in favor of Beijing.

Ratcliffe said in a Sunday interview that he had briefed the House and Senate Intelligence Committees on the influence efforts. Swalwell, who was elected to Congress in 2012, was appointed to the House committee on Jan. 14, 2015.

According to Axios, Fang began cultivating ties to American politicos through student organizations at California State University East Bay, where she enrolled in 2011. She was president of two groups at the school: the Chinese Student Association and the Asian Pacific Islander American Public Affairs.

‘What About My Daughter?’ 1,000 pop. English Village Braces for 500-Man Migrant Camp

Local inhabitants of a small village in rural England have raised concerns after Home Office plans revealed that the government is considering the construction of a migrant camp outside the settlement.

Amidst record-breaking waves of illegal boat migration across the English Channel, the British government has been forced to resort to tactics which hitherto have mainly been seen on continental Europe.

According to the Daily Echo, the Home Office is planning to construct a camp of portacabins just outside the small Hampshire village of Barton Stacey on a Ministry of Defence property that would be capable of housing 500 alleged asylum seekers. The village itself is home to only 1,000 residents, and the plans have sparked deep concern amongst the local population.

The leader of Test Valley Borough Council, Councillor Phil North likened the planned migrant camp to an “open prison”.

“An influx of 500 young men in a village with an existing population of just 1,000, would have an overwhelmingly detrimental impact. In other similar facilities this has led to an increase in anti-social behaviour and criminality,” North warned.

“There are few places I would consider less appropriate for a facility of this nature and it concerns me that this would even be considered,” he added.

430 Pounds of Meth Seized at California Border Crossing

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers in California seized 430 pounds of methamphetamine at a U.S.-Mexico Border crossing.

CBP Office of Field Operations officers assigned to the Calexico West Port of Entry observed a Chevrolet Express approaching for entry into the United States from Mexico. Shortly before midnight on Sunday, a CBP Human Narcotics Detector Dog alerted to an odor near the rear door of the vehicle, according to information received from CBP officials.

The officers referred the driver, a U.S. citizen, to the secondary inspection area where other officers conducted a non-intrusive imaging system scan of the vehicle. System operators observed anomalies in the vehicle during the inspection.

A physical search of the vehicle led to the discovery of 23 packages believed to be filled with drugs, officials reported. Officers identified the drugs found in the vehicle’s floor and spare tire as methamphetamine.

Officials estimated the 430 pounds of methamphetamine to be worth an estimated $1.2 million.

The officers seized the drugs and the vehicle. They placed the U.S. citizen driver under arrest and turned the case over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Homeland Security Investigations special agents for further investigation into the smuggling incident.

During Fiscal Year 2020, which ended on September 30, CBP OFO officers seized a record 156,901 pounds of methamphetamine and 3,967 pounds of fentanyl. During the first month of this fiscal year, OFO officers seized an additional 21,203 pounds of methamphetamine and 1,075 pounds of fentanyl.

While November’s seizure report is not yet available, seizures of methamphetamine appear to be on track to break last year’s record seizures.

FDA announces 2 deaths of Pfizer vaccine trial participants from “serious adverse events”

Following only a day after our report that the FDA knows about and is preparing for COVID-19 vaccine adverse outcomes which include deaths, a newly released document on the FDA website shows that 2 participants died as a result of “serious adverse events” from the experimental Covid vaccine.

In an FDA Briefing Document released on December 8th titled, “Vaccines and Related Biological Products Advisory Committee Meeting December 10, 2020,” clinical trial results from the Pfizer/BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine reveal two study participants died from what were classified as “Serious Adverse Events.” On page 41 of the document two vaccine recipients classified as “>55 years of age” died: “[O]ne experienced a cardiac arrest 62 days after vaccination #2 and died 3 days later, and the other died from arteriosclerosis 3 days after vaccination #1.”

“The FDA announced on Tuesday that two trial participants have died after receiving the Pfizer coronavirus vaccine, according to Reuters. According to Walla, one of the deceased individuals was immunocompromised.

The documents were released ahead of a upcoming meeting on Thursday of outside experts who will debate whether emergency authorization for the vaccine should be granted.

The FDA also said on Tuesday that the data they’re presented with is in line with emergency use authorization, raising hopes for Thursday.

According to Maariv, the sister publication of The Jerusalem Post, the FDA announced on Tuesday that there currently is not enough research to guarantee the vaccine’s safety for immunocompromised groups, pregnant women and children.”

This report follows closely on the heels of the discovery that the FDA’s own public discussion and documents about the COVID-19 vaccines acknowledge that deaths and 21 other conditions, many of which are life-threatening, may result as adverse outcomes from these vaccines. Red Cross President Demands Big Brother Censorship to Muzzle Skeptics of COVID-19 Vaccines

The leader of the Red Cross is calling for a coordinated Big Brother censorship campaign to destroy the free speech of individuals skeptical of experimental COVID-19 vaccines that are already proven to cause many dangerous side-effects.

Francesco Rocca, who works as president of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, appeared before the United Nations Correspondents on Monday in a virtual call where he endorsed Orwellian measures to prevent resistance to COVID-19 inoculations. He said that “fake news” from vaccine skeptics was a “second pandemic” that needs to be snuffed out with a Draconian response.

Rocca said that “to beat this pandemic, we also have to defeat the parallel pandemic of distrust,” and complained about “a growing hesitancy about vaccines in general, and about a COVID vaccine in particular.” He pointed to a recent Johns Hopkins study showing that rates of vaccine acceptance have declined substantially throughout the world in recent months.

He noted that it is not just Western countries that are resisting the technocratic vaccination regime. Countries like the Congo, Lesotho, Cameroon, Rwanda, Kenya, Gabon, Sierra Leone and Zimbabwe are resisting COVID-19 propaganda as well and just want to go back to living their lives.

Rocca said: “In several African countries, we have seen a common skepticism towards vaccines in general, with a common belief being that foreigners use Africa as a medical ‘testing ground.’”

He wants to bamboozle the African countries again, making them forget how vaccines have caused polio to spread like a plague throughout the continent, so that they will line up yet again for Big Pharma’s shots.

“We believe that the massive, coordinated efforts that will be needed to roll out the COVID vaccine in an equitable manner need to be paralleled by equally massive efforts to proactively build and maintain trust,” Rocca said.

He also pre-emptively blamed nationalism for any problems that might occur with regards to the distribution of the vaccines.

“If a few wealthy nations insist on a `vaccine nationalism’ approach, then many other countries — maybe even most other countries — will not be able to access them, both because of exclusive deals between wealthy countries and pharmaceutical companies and the inevitable lag in manufacturing enough doses,” Rocca said.

Deep-State: Someone Is Trying To Discredit Epstein Accuser & Give Maxwell An Out From Speaking

Virginia Giuffre is Jeffrey Epstein’s harshest and most public accuser . New court papers allege that she has secretly pocketed $500,000 from the pedophile financier. The thing is, these papers were once sealed and no one knows how they became public - deepening the mystery of Jeffrey Epstein and his potential ties to the Deep State.

The bombshell allegation that Giuffre took a half-million dollars from Epstein is contained in a legal filing by high-power attorney Alan Dershowitz, though when and precisely why the money would have changed hands is left unstated. In fact, the document is redacted in all the right places, meaning it makes Giuffre look sinister without actually painting the full picture.

Dershowitz is trying to discredit Giuffre, who has claimed publicly and in court papers that Epstein sex-trafficked her to the attorney when she was a minor. Dershowitz, 81, has denied those allegations. Dershowitz also was one of several alleged abusers to have jumped to the defense of Maxwell, lending legal advice and pointing out an old deal between prosecutors might make Maxwell immune to prosecution for the crimes she is currently accused of.

Dershowitz’s filing is part of an April 2019 defamation action lodged against him by Giuffre. It cites a transcript of

an 80-minute, 2019 telephone call between journalist Sharon Churcher and Manhattan book publisher Tony Lyons, who recorded the conversation — allegedly without Churcher’s knowledge.

During the discussion, Churcher, the reporter who in 2011 published the first interview of Giuffre, claims her subject was “a big spender,” court documents show.

“She’s spent so much money. Because you see, Epstein paid her off,” Churcher told Lyons. “She had settled with Epstein… She’d taken half a million, I think it was.

“Amazingly, she could break her no talking agreement because of the First Amendment. You can’t really settle with anyone,” Churcher later added.

Lyons has published books by Dershowitz. The two were discussing Churcher’s planned tome about the “Me Too” movement when they spoke last year.

Churcher also claimed she believed Giuffre mistook Dershowitz “for another Harvard professor.”

“She never named Alan… I think she confused him with someone else,” Churcher claimed. She also went on to describe Epstein’s abuse.

“He had two operations. He was a very sick man in terms of — he loved these schoolgirls giving him erotic massages. Then he had this totally separate thing going where he was basically pimping out beautiful young women to very powerful men,” Churcher said.

During the conversation, Churcher admits Giuffre was paid for their 2011 interview, conceding, “It was checkbook journalism.”

Dershowitz’s filing also alleges Giuffre was 16, and not 15, when she first met Ghislaine Maxwell.

Churcher declined requests of comment. “We are looking forward to deposing Ms. Churcher under oath,” said Charles Cooper, a lawyer for Giuffre.

This all while GHISLAINE Maxwell launches a legal bid to keep secret the trove of dynamite files on her sordid sex life.

COVID-19: US FDA Lists 27 Expected Adverse Reactions to New Vaccines, Including Death

According to the US FDA’s Vaccines and Related Biological Products Advisory Committee the novel COVID-19 vaccines are not as harmless as the public is being told by their governments, the mainstream media and the alleged ‘experts’ that they have on their shows or who they interview for their newspaper articles.

In fact, the FDA’s Committee, in an October 22, 2020 meeting, agreed that the agency expects 27 adverse reactions to the novel vaccines, including death. On page 17 of their meeting report the Committee lists the following adverse reactions:

Guillain-Barré Syndrome: A disorder in which your body’s immune system attacks your nerve system. This may eventually paralyze your whole body.

Acute Disseminated Encephalomyelitis: An inflammation that affects the brain and spinal cord, usually in children. It damages the coating that protects nerve fibers, called myelin. Symptoms may be severe.

Transverse Myelitis: An inflammation of both sides of one section of the spinal cord. This neurological disorder often damages the insulating material covering nerve cell fibers (myelin). Transverse myelitis interrupts the messages that the spinal cord nerves send throughout the body.

Encephalitis: An inflammation of the brain.

Myelitis: An inflammation of the spinal cord which can disrupt the normal responses from the brain to the rest of the body, and from the rest of the body to the brain.

Israel kills child and then lies

What crime did 15-year-old Ali Ayman Saleh Nasser commit to be killed by occupation soldiers?

Observing a protest, apparently.

Israeli forces fatally shot Nasser in the stomach in the central West Bank village of al-Mughayyir on Friday during a protest against Israeli land theft in the area.

Nasser was reportedly not participating in demonstrations when he was killed.

All he did was watch, according to field investigations by Defense for Children International Palestine (DCIP).

The child was taken in a private car to the entrance of a nearby village. From there, an ambulance took him to the Palestine Medical Complex in the occupied West Bank city of Ramallah.

He was pronounced dead shortly afterward.

Nasser is the sixth Palestinian child in the occupied West Bank to be killed by Israeli forces this year.

Kill and lie

As in many other cases when occupation forces killed a Palestinian child, the Israeli military lied about what happened.

The army denied using live fire during the Friday protests, according to Tel Aviv daily Haaretz.

The military spokesperson insisted that soldiers used rubber-coated steel bullets and US-made Ruger rifles.

But Israel’s claim that Ruger rifles do not fire live ammunition is an outright lie. These guns fire live bullets, albeit smaller 22-caliber rounds.

They are nonetheless lethal.

During the second intifada that began in 2000, the head of the Israeli army’s operations directorate ruled that “the Ruger cannot be considered a non-lethal weapon and may be used only in circumstances that justify live fire,” B’Tselem stated in 2015.

“In view of the large number of people hit and even killed by 0.22 bullets early in the second intifada, use of this ammunition was suspended from 2001 to 2008,” the human rights group added.

B’Tselem began documenting Israel’s sharply increased use of 22-caliber rifles against unarmed Palestinian protesters in 2015.

DCIP confirmed that Nasser was killed by live fire. The group also confirmed that Israeli soldiers used sponge-tipped rounds and tear gas grenades against protesters.

Israeli forces also fired rubber-coated steel bullets, injuring four other Palestinian youths during demonstrations, Haaretz reported.

While Israel claims that rubber-coated bullets, sponge-tipped rounds and tear gas are also non-lethal, they have indeed killed and severely injured many Palestinians, including children.

Americans Should Look at Their Conduct: China Points to US Human Rights Abuses

The People’s Republic of China is rapidly regressing on human rights, returning to the sort of political totalitarianism of the mad "Red Emperor" Mao Zedong. Personal autonomy remains largely unfettered, but Xi Jinping has created an expansive and brutal security state which punishes the slightest criticism of or dissent from his and the Chinese Communist Party’s authority.

There is no excuse for the regime treating the PRC’s 1.4 billion people as automatons. Yet Beijing is ostentatiously extending the same controls to Hong Kong, destroying what once was an oasis of liberty within the Chinese system. The same fate certainly awaits Taiwan if it is swallowed by the colossus next door.

The good news is that nothing is forever in China. After Mao’s death in 1976 came political relaxation, economic liberalization, and personal liberation. Before XI took power in 2012 the authoritarianism, though real, was loose. A similar reversal could occur when XI mercifully leaves the scene. America should play the long game and avoid inflaming pre-existing nationalist currents and causing patriotic Chinese to defend the XI dictatorship. The Trump administration’s maladroit attacks on the CCP – most recently restricting visas to tens of millions of party members – is more likely to hurt than help the cause of liberty in the PRC.

In any case, U.S. officials have little cause for the sanctimony that normally infuses their human rights lectures to the world. China repeatedly made this point in 2020, citing not only police abuse of African-Americans but also military attacks on Muslims.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Geng Shuang observed: "It must be pointed out that the wars staged by the US in the Middle East over the past years have caused countless Muslim casualties and displacement as well as turmoil in the region. As has been proven, it is precisely the US that has infringed upon Muslim human rights." He added that withdrawing from the Iran nuclear accord "neglected international law and its international obligations," and that "such practices are the root cause of current tensions." Indeed, the administration narrowly avoided starting another, and potentially even more terrible war, against Tehran.

Of course, Beijing is hypocritical and sanctimonious as well in making such charges. Tens of millions of people died during the madness of Mao’s rule in China, yet the current regime continues to venerate the psychotic Red Emperor, whose body (or more likely, wax likeness) lies in repose in a massive mausoleum in Tiananmen Square. Such is the way of the world.

Army secretary announces multiple firings, suspensions after investigation at Fort Hood

Army Secretary Ryan McCarthy on Tuesday announced the firing and suspension of numerous officers and enlisted soldiers at Fort Hood in a sweeping disciplinary action to address widespread sexual harassment and violence, suicides and murder at the troubled Texas base.

McCarthy said 14 leaders at Fort Hood have been relieved or suspended from their position, a move that comes after an independent review of the base’s command was ordered to review years of sexual assault and violence.

“I have determined the issues at Fort Hood are directly related to leadership failures. I am … disappointed that leaders failed to effectively create a climate that treated all soldiers with dignity and respect and have failed to reinforce every ones’ obligation to prevent and properly respond to allegations of sexual harassment and sexual assault,” McCarthy told reporters at the Pentagon.

The removals are a direct result of the independent review, released on Tuesday, which scrutinized the base’s command climate and culture. McCarthy ordered the look after the discovery of the remains of Pfc. Vanessa Guillen, 20, who went missing in April before her body was discovered in early July.

The Army earlier this year removed Fort Hood’s commander, Maj. Gen. Scott Efflandt — who was leading the base when Guillen went missing — dropping him down to deputy and barring him from a planned position at another Texas base. But Efflandt has now been relieved altogether, in addition to Col. Ralph Overland and Command Sgt. Maj. Bradley Knapp, the 3rd Cavalry Regiment commander and command sergeant major.

McCarthy also directed the suspension of Maj. Gen. Jeffrey Broadwater and Command Sgt. Maj. Thomas C. Kenny, the 1st Cavalry Division commanding general and command sergeant major, pending the outcome of a new Army investigation of the division’s command climate and Sexual Harassment/Assault Response and Prevention program.

The base commander, Lt. Gen. Pat White, was deployed to Iraq for much of the year and will not face any administrative action, McCarthy said.

The service will not release the names of the battalion level and below commanders and leaders who received administrative action, "as matter of policy and to protect individual privacy."

Trump officials passed on 'multiple' offers to buy more Pfizer vaccine, Gottlieb says

Former Food and Drug Administration Commissioner Scott Gottlieb, now a member of the Pfizer board of directors, said Tuesday that the pharmaceutical giant offered the Trump administration the chance to buy additional doses of its coronavirus vaccine multiple times, but that officials turned down the offers.

The comments from Gottlieb confirm a report in The New York Times, which on Monday revealed that additional doses of the Pfizer vaccine, beyond the 100 million already purchased, may not be available in the U.S. until June because they were committed to other countries after the Trump administration passed on them.

"Pfizer did offer an additional allotment coming out of that [Michigan] plant, basically the second quarter allotment, to the United States government multiple times, and as recently as after the interim data came out and we knew this vaccine looked to be effective," Gottlieb said on CNBC.

While Trump administration officials denied the Times report during a background call with reporters on Monday, they have stressed that their strategy has always been to spread their bets across six different companies working on vaccines, not just Pfizer.

Moncef Slaoui, the chief science adviser for the administration's Operation Warp Speed, did not deny the Times report on Tuesday and instead emphasized that the administration is relying on six different companies, not just Pfizer.

"Let me remind everybody what our strategy is and has always been: We selected six different vaccines to build a portfolio to manage the risk that some may work and some may not work, but also to ensure that as more than one would work we would accumulate vaccine doses from this portfolio of vaccines," Slaoui said on ABC.

"In the summer if somebody came to us and said 'Let's buy more of this vaccine or that vaccine,' no one reasonable would buy more from any one of those vaccines because we didn't know which one would work and which one may be better than the other," he added.

But so far, the most promising vaccines are from just two companies, Moderna and Pfizer. If more vaccines from other companies prove to be safe and effective, it would reduce the need for additional doses of the Pfizer vaccine and the administration's strategy could still work out. But if Pfizer turns out to be the main source of effective vaccines, not having secured more doses could be a problem.

Slaoui on Tuesday pointed at other companies as sources of additional doses.

On 40th anniversary of his murder, journalist and songwriter Akiva Nof recalls interviewing Beatle in Amsterdam, teaching him words to his song about never abandoning the holy city

To mark 40 years since John Lennon’s murder, Israeli television on Tuesday aired a 1969 audio clip of the Beatle singing a Hebrew song “Oath to Jerusalem,” and interviewed Akiva Nof, the Israeli journalist, songwriter and later Knesset member who wrote the song and taught it to Lennon.

Lennon, who was in Amsterdam at the time holding a “bed-in for peace” with wife Yoko Ono, sings two lines from the song in the brief audio clip, after introducing it as “the voice of Lennon talking to the Voice of Israel”: “Jerusalem, we have all sworn for eternity, we will not abandon you from here and forever.”

Nof, recalling the interview, told Channel 12 News he was working as an Israel Radio (AKA Voice of Israel) correspondent at the time, was in Amsterdam, and knocked on the door of Lennon’s hotel room to ask for an interview. He said he didn’t think he’d have the courage to do that kind of thing nowadays, but hadn’t quite internalized “the greatness of the moment.”

A member of Lennon’s entourage was in the process of shaking his head to deny the interview request and closing the door in his face, Nof remembered, when Lennon called out from inside, “Let the Voice of Israel come in.”

He found himself alone with Lennon in the room — “for 10 minutes, and then another 10 minutes, and we had more than an interview; it was a discussion for half an hour,” he said. “My impression was that Lennon simply wanted to talk.”

At one point, said Nof, “I asked him if he knew any Israeli songs, and he replied, ‘Only Hava Nagila, ha-ha-ha.’

“So I asked him if he would let me teach him two lines of a song of mine that at the time was being sung by the Israeli Army’s rabbinical choir. He said, ‘yes, yes, yes.'”

Nof — who had headed the youth leadership of the Herut party, a forerunner of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s Likud, and who later served three terms as an MK — continued: “I wrote out the words for him in Latin letters, taught him the tune in a flash, and he sang.

“And what did he sing? ‘Jerusalem, we have all sworn for eternity, we will not abandon you from here and forever’.”

Nof said Lennon also told him he was “looking forward to being an old person.”

When he was murdered, said Nof, “I thought to myself that ‘you will never be old, but you will be young in our hearts forever’.”

Russian envoy: Israel - not Iran - is the problem in the Middle East

The ambassador claimed there's no proof Hezbollah created tunnels to attack Israel.

Israel destabilizes the Middle East more than Iran, Russian Ambassador to Israel Anatoly Viktorov said on Tuesday.

“The problem in the region is not Iranian activities,” Viktorov said at the Russian Embassy in Tel Aviv. “It’s a lack of understanding between countries and noncompliance with UN resolutions in the Israel-Arab and Israel-Palestinian conflict.”

Asked if the relatively limited scope of Israel’s conflict with the Palestinians destabilizes the region more than Iran does through proxies around the Middle East, like the Houthis in Yemen and Hezbollah in Lebanon, Viktorov balked at the notion of Iranian funding the Shi’ite terrorist group.

“Israel is attacking Hezbollah, Hezbollah is not attacking Israel,” he added, referring to Israel bombing Iranian and Hezbollah and weapons convoys in Syria.

Viktorov said he has seen the tunnels from Lebanon into Israel, which Hezbollah operatives have used to attempt to attack Israel, and argued there is “no proof Hezbollah created the tunnels.”

The ambassador said Israel must “not attack the territories of sovereign UN members.”

Asked whether this is a change in the position, by which Israel gives Russia advanced notice before it attacks Iranian positions near the Syria-Israel border, Viktorov said no, because “coordination is about the safety of the Russian military in Syria.”

However, he added, “there is no way that we are approving any Israeli strikes on Syria, never in the past and never in the future.”

With regards to recent International Atomic Energy Agency reports that Iran has developed more centrifuges to a further extent than permitted by the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), as the 2015 Iran nuclear deal is known, Viktorov said he does not agree that Iran has violated the agreement.

“The first step was made by… our American colleagues who unfortunately decided to quit the JCPOA [in 2018],” he said. “They quit the plan and that allowed the Iranian side to undertake some steps which are not in full compliance with the plan, which is unfortunate as well.”

Police Reports Shed Light on Warnock’s 2002 Arrest for Obstruction: ‘Extremely Uncooperative and Disruptive’

Warnock repeatedly disrupted child abuse investigation, reports say

Georgia Democratic Senate candidate Raphael Warnock repeatedly disrupted a 2002 police investigation into child abuse at a church-affiliated summer camp, interfering with interviews and discouraging counselors from speaking with investigators, according to two Maryland State Police reports obtained by the Washington Free Beacon.

The records indicate that Warnock, who was at the time senior pastor of the church that operated the camp, insisted that the camp's attorneys be present. While police said the counselors themselves were free to request an attorney, Warnock could not do so on their behalf.

Warnock went on to disrupt the interviews on July 31, 2002: "This investigator informed [camp administrators] that if the counselors requested that an attorney be present that was their right, however, no one else could [invoke] their rights to an attorney on their behalf," the report reads.

While the names in the documents are blacked out, the reports track closely with contemporaneous newspaper articles about the incident, which led to Warnock's arrest. The charges were ultimately dropped by the state attorney. The Baltimore Sun reported on Aug. 3, 2002, that Warnock and a colleague were "accused in court documents of trying to prevent a state trooper of interviewing counselors at Camp Farthest Out" and that the ministers "interrupted a police interview of a counselor." Warnock told the paper that he was "only asserting that lawyers should be present when the camp counselors were interviewed."

Warnock said in Sunday’s debate that law enforcement officers "actually later thanked me for my cooperation and for helping them," and the deputy state attorney told the Baltimore Sun the same thing in November of 2002.

But the police report paints a more complicated picture of the events. Filed by state troopers after Warnock and another reverend were arrested for "hindering and obstructing" police, the records indicate that investigators repeatedly warned Warnock to stop interfering with the investigation before he was arrested.
