From what I gather, the luciferase was administered to a rat, not put in the vaccine. It said it was administered by interperitoneal injection. That means that it was injected into the space between the body tissues and the skin. If you read on carefully you'll see that it says "prior to imaging".

 

Luciferase is an enzyme that glows, so my interpretation of the text was to say it was injected into the rats for the purpose of imaging and was not part of a vaccine at all but rather part of what they were using to perform measurements and study the rats that they were experimenting on.

 

Sadly, your post strikes me a hysterical. You did not read the study with understanding and leaped to a conclusion when you saw the word 'luciferase'.
