Indian scientists published an article titled “Uncanny similarity of unique inserts in the 2019-nCoV spike protein to HIV-1 gp120 and Gag“, suggesting that segments of the RNA of the novel coronavirus COVID-19 have no relation to other coronaviruses like SARS, and instead appear to be closer to HIV. In fact, the virus responds to treatment by HIV medications, according to various news reports.
The article first appeared on https://www.biorxiv.org/ but was later withdrawn under unknown pressure.
At the same time, a paper on Lancet published on March 30, 2020 by Chinese scientists in Wuhan suggests that the novel coronavirus COVID-19 also reactivates Epstein-Barr Virus (EBV) in immunocompromised individuals. The paper, titled "Positive Epstein-Barr Virus Detection in Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) Patients", implies that the novel coronavirus COVID-19 contains characteristics of the EBV or causes activation of the EBV.
Other reports indicate that people who are older and people who have preexisting conditions have a higher death rate after being infected with the novel coronavirus COVID-19. It makes people wonder whether the novel coronavirus COVID-19 contains inserts, insertions, or characteristics of other known viruses. In other words, the novel coronavirus COVID-19 may be a manmade or generically engineered virus, with combination of characteristics of different viruses.
On May 8, 2020, a paper titled "Triple combination of interferon beta-1b, lopinavir–ritonavir, and ribavirin in the treatment of patients admitted to hospital with COVID-19: an open-label, randomised, phase 2 trial" was published on the Lancet. Interferon Beta-1b is currently used as a drug to treat multiple sclerosis. According to Anthony William, author of Medical Medium, multiple sclerosis is a disease caused by a virus in the herpes family. Lopinavir–ritonavir is currently used as a drug combination to treat HIV infections, or AIDS, while Ribavirin is currently used as a drug to treat Hepatitis C. If the combination of these drugs are shown to be effective against the novel coronavirus COVID-19, does that mean that COVID 19 has the characteristics or genetic make-ups of the HIV, herpes, and the virus that causes Hepatitis C? It may further serve as a proof that the novel coronavirus COVID-19 uses its spike protein to bind with human ACE2 protein receptors as a way to infect people, but contains genetic make-ups of viruses such as the HIV, herpes, and Epstein-Barr (EBV) so that symptoms of infections of these viruses occur once people become infected.
