This whole episode is reminding me why "suicide weekend" is gonna be a real thing. Since the entire Justice system has been corrupted we can no longer rely on it. If Swalwell was simply facing charges by the FBI he wouldn't be worried. But he's not, as we've learned the only way to clean this thing up is the use of the military, where justice will be swift and he won't have the luxury of an army of expensive attorneys and media figures to support him. If he's caught, he's done. Period.
In such a scenario you have two options: you cooperate and turn others in or you put a gun in your mouth.
Or, perhaps, you get the opportunity for both.
