Exclusive, Pompeo: Thanks to Trump, Chinese Communist Party ‘Has Now Shown Itself’ and Is Exposed

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo told Breitbart News exclusively that President Donald Trump and his administration have successfully exposed the Chinese Communist Party as the most significant threat to the United States – something he hopes will last long into the future.

Thanks to the work of Trump and his administration, Pompeo said, combined with the Chinese Communist Party’s coverup of the origins of the coronavirus pandemic, the Chinese Communist Party and its influence operations across the country and around the world are well known and public. The CCP, the president’s top diplomat and former CIA director argued, was able to operate in the shadows with impunity for years—but now it can no longer hide its agenda and actions from the world.

“The CCP has now shown itself,” Pompeo said. “It frankly didn’t for a long time. We can now see it. Each time we push back, you can see it more clearly.

The U.S. House just passed legislation that had passed the Senate earlier this year that could lead to Chinese companies being delisted from U.S. stock exchanges if they are government-backed companies like many Chinese firms are.

Asked about this legislation, and whether he spoke to the president about it, Pompeo said he was not sure about the particular bill but did say the president’s entire approach to China has been first and foremost an economic issue.

“It’s very clear the president began in understanding this as an economic issue. He began with tariffs,” Pompeo said. “Then the work we’ve done in making sure they’re not using telecommunications infrastructure like Huawei to steal data and information. We’ve pushed back on IP theft as well. So your point about investment issues, we’ve also strengthened the CFIUS laws—the rule that governs how Chinese companies can invest in the United States. We’ve simply said this ought to be fair and reciprocal. If an American company can’t invest in China on a certain set of terms, why should a Chinese company be allowed to invest here? This set of legislation you’re describing I think relates to that. That is if they’re going to raise capital and use our markets, they ought to have the same set of rules for accounting and reporting that any company from anyplace else in the world ought to have. I think that makes enormous sense, and it’s consistent with the president’s idea of fairness and reciprocity between every country. We shouldn’t have a separate set of rules for China.”

What’s more, no matter who is president next year—Trump or Biden, depending on how the president’s challenges go—and no matter what happens in future elections, Pompeo believes that the Trump administration’s approach to the Chinese Communist Party is going to be “lasting” because of the work they have done to expose the threat to the American public and to the world. He also argued that this represents a broader fight between “freedom and tyranny,” and that he is confident freedom will win the day in the long run.

“It will be lasting. The work that we’ve done around the world as well to inform the world about these risks has now convinced people all across the world about the challenge that the CCP presents. That will mean this is lasting,” Pompeo said. “That will mean the Chinese Communist Party will not be able to count on countries across the world bending the knee for them and appeasing them but rather they will see the world is united. They will see this isn’t just a battle between the U.S. and China, but rather this is about what the world is going to look like. Is it going to be a world governed by authoritarians who don’t want the rule of law and sovereignty, or is it going to be the model that has made the world so successful for the last 100 years—the rule of law, nation states acting in their own best interest? That's the competition between freedom and tyranny and I am very confident that the work that President Trump and our administration has done will put the world in a place where freedom will prevail.”

My question is what else did they do to make freedom last

Donald Trump to Attend His Third Army-Navy Football Game

President Donald Trump is scheduled to attend the Army-Navy rivalry football game on Saturday.

“The president’s going to make it,” Naval Academy athletic director Chet Gladchuk told reporters on Monday, according to the Associated Press.

The game will be played at the United States Military Academy in West Point, New York, at Michie Stadium.

Trump has previously demonstrated great enthusiasm for the game, attending it in 2018 and 2019 as well as in 2016 after he was elected president.

The game was originally scheduled for Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia but was moved due to state limits on outdoor gatherings.

Only Army cadets and Navy midshipmen will be allowed to attend the game as part of the restrictions due to coronavirus.

Exclusive, Secretary Pompeo: ‘America First Will Have a Lasting Legacy’

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo told Breitbart News in an exclusive interview in his office at the State Department in Foggy Bottom in Washington, DC, that he believes, no matter who is president next year, President Donald Trump’s “America First” vision for the country and the world will have a “lasting legacy” far beyond this past four years.

“America First makes sense,” Pompeo said when asked during the interview if the president’s vision has legs beyond this administration. “It makes sense not only to the American people, but the world can now see that when we get it right, when America gets it right at home, it’s not America alone. It’s America as a force for good in the world and demanding that every nation do that for themselves as well—protect their own sovereignty. I think the theory that President Trump laid down, that I articulated back in Claremont two years and three months ago, that the case for America First will have a lasting legacy because it is the right direction for America at this time in history.”

President Trump rode into office after a shocking 2016 electoral college defeat of Pompeo’s predecessor, former Secretary of State and Democrat Hillary Rodham Clinton, defeating her with 306 electoral votes to her 232 electoral votes. Trump fundamentally changed the way the United States approaches its place and role on the world stage, pursuing what he described as an “America First” vision for the world. That did not mean an unwillingness to use military force and might when necessary. From the get-go and throughout his administration–from strikes against Syria after Bashar al-Assad used chemical weapons through early 2020 when he used a drone strike to eliminate Iranian Gen. Qassem Soleimani–he demonstrated the willingness of the United States under this vision to use military force to pursue American interests abroad. But at the same time, the United States has entered into no new wars during Trump’s presidency—the first in decades where that has been the case—and Trump and his core administration officials like Pompeo have used the economic and diplomatic might of the United States to great effect in places ranging from China to the Middle East to Europe and elsewhere around the world.

Pompeo argued in this interview that Americans—and the world—have been the beneficiary of the success of the America First visionFrom reenergizing NATO to better prepare for the future to combating the Chinese Communist Party through restructuring the Middle East with historic peace deals like the Abraham Accords and a U.S.-Taliban agreement that sets the stage for the eventual withdrawal of all U.S. forces from Afghanistan, ending the nation’s longest war ever as well as directly confronting rather than appeasing the Islamic Republic of Iran, Pompeo says the world is “safer and more secure” for Americans now than before Trump took office. He also argued that the rest of the world appreciated the more active role the Trump administration took in shaping America’s vision on the world stage than the failures of the previous administration.

“I started the administration as the director of the CIA, so I had a chance to get a very good grounding in the state of play when the administration took office all around the world,” Pompeo told Breitbart News. “I spent the last almost three years as the Secretary of State. What one can say with certainty is two things: One, Americans are safer and more secure today than they were four years ago. Second, the world has appreciated an America that wasn’t prone to appeasement, that was serious and direct, that didn’t pull punches. When NATO was headed down a path that was going to lead to a very bad outcome, President Trump said no, we got to fix this thing. We got to make it fit for purpose. So, now there is $400 billion more in the next four years that will be spent by non-U.S. NATO allies. It’s focused on cyber and space and on China, and is now headed in a direction that will make NATO relevant for the next 70 years. We acknowledge that the Chinese Communist Party poses a threat to the world rather than saying, goodness, if we can figure out how to make some more money there we ought to let this continue while China acts in ways that are inconsistent with keeping Americans safe and prosperous for the next decade or 20 years. We addressed it. What’s another good example? I could go on—the Middle East. We confronted a situation where the previous administration had said that Iran ought to be our best partner, here’s $150 billion to continue your terror campaign. We said that’s disgraceful.

Dr. Anthony Fauci skipped President Donald Trump’s event celebrating the development of a coronavirus vaccine on Tuesday

A Trump administration official told Breitbart News on Monday that Fauci wanted to attend the event but would not do so due to a “scheduling conflict.”

The long-term director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases revealed Tuesday afternoon that he instead attended an event celebrating his colleague Dr. Harvey Alter getting the Nobel Prize of Medicine.

Several public health officials did attend Trump’s event at the White House, including White House Coronavirus Response Coordinator Ambassador Deborah Birx, M.D., Director of the Centers for Disease Control Dr. Robert Redfield, Chief Advisor of Operation Warp Speed Dr. Moncef Slaoui, and Director of the Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research Dr. Peter Marks.

Fauci made a point, however, of sending a pre-recorded video to a press event with former Vice President Joe Biden instead, thanking him for appointing him as an advisor on fighting the coronavirus pandemic.

“Dr. Fauci is trusted, a truth-teller, a patriot. Like every good doctor, he’ll tell me what I need to know, not what I want to know,” Biden said.

Biden’s event took place at roughly the same time as Trump’s event on Tuesday afternoon.

The White House also took a few subtle shots against Fauci at the summit.

A video released by the White House for the summit featured Dr. Fauci as a critic of the president’s optimistic timeline of getting a vaccine developed by the end of the year.

In his video address to Biden, Fauci pointedly noted that the former Vice President was “president-elect.”

“In the fight against this pandemic we must lead with science and that a key piece of our ongoing work is communicating constantly with the American people,” Fauci said.

He endorsed the idea of continuing policies requiring social distancing, preventing congregations indoors, and Biden’s proposal of a 100-day mask mandate.

“These actions are bold but they are doable, and essential to help the public avoid unnecessary risks,” Fauci said, noting that he “looked forward” to working with Biden and “world-class experts” in his upcoming administration.

I love how all these assholes expose themselves, they are so confidant they won or are winning they will reveal every treasonous act they have planned

NY AG James: Even With Pardon Trump ‘Cannot Avoid Justice’ New York State

New York State Attorney General Letitia James said Tuesday on ABC’s “The View” that President Donald Trump could not “avoid justice” in New York even with a possible maneuver like stepping down before January 20 and having a then-sworn-in President Mike Pence pardon him.

James said, “The vast majority of legal scholars have indicated that he cannot pardon himself. What he could do is step down and allow the vice president, Vice President Pence, to pardon him. In all likelihood, I suspect he’ll pardon his family members, his children, his son-in-law, and individuals in his administration, as well as some of his close associates. And then I suspect at some point he’ll step down and allow the vice president to pardon him.”

She added, “Now, it’s important to understand he’s pardoned from federal crimes, but he is not pardoned from state crimes. Last year I introduced a bill in the state legislature which would close the pardon loophole so that individuals such as the president of the United States would not evade justice. It’s important that we have this check on presidential powers and that the state legislature. I’m so happy they passed that bill, and it’s now the law in the state of New York. President Trump cannot avoid justice in the great state of New York.”
