>Perseus/Kraken/Greek Myths
Iirc
Son of Zeus and a Nyriad (water spirit) favored by Poseidon. (In Greek mythology favored means lusted after).
So it's another Zeus/Athena/allies nexus vs. Hera/Poseidon. Unlike Zeus Poseidon's offspring are usually vile monsters, so Perseus goes a questing with gifts from Athena and others, and BTFO Poseidon and Hera's allies.
The Kraken was chosen by Hera to kill some Queens daughter Andromeda, after the idiot queen said Andromeda's beauty rivaled Hera's. Perseus killed the kraken with medusa's head, but it was not one of his missions. Just a lucky hero with a flying horse rescuing a babe and gettin laid.
The medusa head was to free his mother from a Satyr (Poseidon brat) who kidnapped her so his dad could get in some godly raping and breed more monsters.
After feeding mom, Perseus, mom, and his new bride Andromeda go back to his mom's husband's kingdom. Step dad had booted wife and stepson quite cruelly, after a prophesy said her son would kill him.
King welcomed them back (after all step son is married to the princess of a rival kingdom). At some point Perseus accidently causes the king's death, leaving Perseus king cuz Nyriads can't rule men or some such.
That's off top o my head
The Kraken/Andromeda story line were add about 100 years after the original myth, thus the use of Hera to shoehorn it. Why, dunno. Some Greek story teller/pedophile's favorite Catamite wanted it is my theory.
