The group visited St. Louis’ sister-city of Nanjing, China in celebration of the 40th anniversary of being sister-cities with the region. Leaders from the Washington University School of Medicine joined the group in the Chinese city of Suzhou to commemorate a recent partnership with Huici Health Management Co.”

Mayor Krewson’s first trip abroad since becoming mayor, she sees [our] job is to nurute and grow the relationship. Washington University School of Medicine has formed a collaboration with China based Huici Health Management Company, providing hospital design, physician training, purchase of new technologies, partnering with the Siteman Cancer Center in sharing its prevention programs.

Krewson announced she was retiring and would not seek reelection. Good for St. Louis residents as she was ineffective in protecting the citizens (as the McCloskeys saw first-hand) in dealing with the protestors this summer as they marched on the city, starting fires, looting, destroying property, defacing or tearing down, or demanding removal of iconic statues in the city, shooting police and murdering retired St. Louis Police Captain David Dorn. I bet the Mayor’s neighbors are glad to see her go.

Unfortunately, in St. Louis City (and County), democrats reign. That is why the city has been the mess it is. Vying for Mayor, the four candidates throwing their hats into the ring include:

  1. Aldermanic President Lewis Reed (formerly of Chicago) is going for his third attempt to become Mayor.

  1. St. Louis City Treasurer Tishaura Jones (daughter of Virvus Jones) reminds me of the other “children” who followed their fathers into politics (Freeman Bosley, Lacy Clay). The City Treasurer has until January 4, 2021 to come up with 274 signatures on her petition to make up for the shortage of those tossed because the signatures could not be verified, did not match, or belonged to someone not registered to vote.

  1. Alderwoman Cara Spencer has been on the Board of Aldermen for 5 years is a progressive who has voted against several large projects, but has not said what she plans to do other than provide leadership and vision.” Whatever that means.

  1. Business woman Dana Kelly plans to file after quarantining after being diagnosed with coronavirus this month.
