I have had many major operations. I learned early on, not to think about it at all. I focus on things I will need, how to accommodate how my mobility will change for a time.
Food and supplies I will need. getting to and from PT.
That sort of thing. I don't even think about it as I am arriving and going through the processing rigamaroll.
I just wait for them to give me that little relaxing shot. Then I know I can relax. Don't focus on it.
