Lawyers who file frivolous suits invite serious consequences

Over the past few weeks, the campaign and allies of President Donald J. Trump have filed several dozen unsuccessful lawsuits related to the Nov. 3 election, and nearly all have been rejected by federal and state judges.
While the lawsuits might curry favor with the president, an ABA Legal Fact Check released Dec. 4 explains they carry potential peril for these lawyers, who are officers of the court and could face sanctions ranging up to disbarment if they fail to follow court rules.
