Anons, wanted to share my "Covid story".

Couple of weeks ago, spouse came down with pretty bad fever, body aches, ect. (just like mild flu). Chills/fever lasted about one day.

Then 3 of my 4 kids all started complaining of back pain, eye pain, sinus pain, and bad fatigue. Was only "bad bad" about a day.

Then spouse and those 3 kids all lost sense of smell and taste. Which was so frustrating for all of them (Kids are 15-21).

Only me and the youngest weren't sick.

Until 2 days ago when my stomach was bothering me pretty bad….I ended up throwing up everything I tried drinking to calm my stomach (I haven't thrown up in YEARS). Then got what was like a pretty bad stomach "bug" after that.

Now yesterday, I kept sweating profusely when I did anything, but I wasn't hot, if that makes sense. And was getting badly out of breath just climbing the stairs. (spouse and kids also complained about trouble breathing).

Our 18 y/o son has SEVERE anxiety/panic attacks. He kept running into the room the past few days thinking something was really wrong….saying he felt "confused" and not in his body, and we just kept trying to calm him. (I personally suffered with the same thing all through my 20's & 30s so I totally know what he is going through, and know the fear it causes, + the physical things it can cause.)

He read somewhere that COVID patients could have this as a side effect. He continued to freak out wanting us to get him help so my spouse rushed him to the ER yesterday.

Of course, they did a COVID test, which I was pissed about.

After telling them all of his symptoms, the nurse said it sounded like COVID for sure. She said they are getting a lot of college-age kids with "confusion" as a symptom.

So they sent him home just telling him to follow up with his Dr and to wait for COVID results in 2 days.

Last night I had the cold sweats again all night, and when I woke this morning, I could hardly walk my back hurt so bad. (I already have back problems but never THAT bad). And my eye felt like someone was stabbing it with a knife.

We are all feeling a little better, just weak/tired. And rest of family is getting their taste/smell back.

All I can say from personal experience is, if this WAS COVID, it wasn't that bad at all. Just like a moderate flu/cold. No medicine, no antibiotics, ect.

Also, spouse said there was NO ONE in the ER yesterday…said it was the most empty they ever saw it.

I REALLY wish the HCQ was available….

smoker here too…

my whole family just got over being sick (they think it was covid, we are waiting the results); none of us ever get flu vaccine.

I was the only one who didn't get as sick as the others….very mild symptoms.

And, knock on wood, I haven't been seriously sick since 2010 when I had pneumonia. Used to get sinus infections & bronchitis every year before that.

Strange isn't it….tobacco is a plant, after all.

thanks all very much. Hope I got all of the replies…

I actually started taking Zinc daily when this started….maybe why I didn't get anywhere near as sick as the rest of my family? IDK.

Wanted to note: Other than running to the store, me and kids have been home (younger ones online school & I work from home); spouse only one who goes to work every day. We only wear masks in stores, but that is the only place we go. And spouse required to wear mask at work.

So if masks work, why did we still get sick?
