They do it as a display of their authority over the masses. "You will do what I say, and because I am the supreme leader of the land" mentality. They get pleasure out of watching everyone obey them without question. Releasing prisoners while at the same time jailing law abiding citizens for not wearing a mask, or not properly social distancing.

They're ''power tripping'' their balls off anon, and won't relinquish this power without a fight. That's why they're pushing that masks will now be the "new normal" regardless of whether or not we have a vaccine.
