Ken Hao joined Silver Lake in 2000 and is Chairman and a Managing Partner. Mr. Hao currently serves as a director on the boards of portfolio companies NortonLifeLock, ServiceMax, SMART Global Holdings and SolarWinds.
From 2008-2011, he led the establishment of the firm's offices in China and Japan and led Silver Lake's investments in Alibaba Group. Previously, he served as a director of Broadcom (formerly Avago), Smart Storage Systems (acquired by SanDisk Corporation), NetScout Systems (Nasdaq: NTCT), UGS Corp. (acquired by Siemens AG), Network General Corporation (acquired by NetScout), and Certance Holdings (a division of Seagate acquired by Quantum).
Prior to joining Silver Lake, Mr. Hao was with Hambrecht & Quist (now part of JP Morgan) from 1990-1999, where he served as a Managing Director. Outside of Silver Lake, Mr. Hao also serves on the Executive Council for UCSF Health. Mr. Hao graduated from Harvard College with an A.B. in Economics.
