‘Nonpartisan’ Facebook Fact-Checking Arbiter Trashed Republicans On Russian Propaganda Outlet

The 'independent certifier' who retweeted the claim that all Republican voters are racists approved as a Facebook fact-checker an organization funded by Chinese Communists and U.S. Democrats.

A professor Facebook has empowered to decide who can become a fact-checker is an open political leftist who has expressed animus against all Republican U.S. voters, according to recently uncovered documents exposing the official — and the process by which social media censors obtain their powers.

According to Jack Houghton of Sky News, the platform’s fact-checking certifier Margot Susca retweeted the claim that racism is “embraced by nearly half of the country’s electorate” in America, called herself a member of Hillary Clinton’s “team” in 2019, and on Russian propaganda network RT she insisted that the U.S. president’s speeches should not be broadcast. Susca is an American University journalism professor and has been a “certifier” for the International Fact-Checking Network since 2017.

ICFN is run by the leftist journalism nonprofit organization Poynter Institute, which claims to be nonpartisan but openly and far more frequently censors right-identified politicians, outlets, and ideas. Facebook uses ICFN to approve censors for its immense platform.

In her role, Susca has certified 19 fact-checking applications from organizations that include the obscure Chinese- and Democrat-funded Lead Stories. Lead Stories has been censoring stories from The Federalist and other non-leftist outlets despite making documented factual errors that boost Democrat-friendly narratives. Susca approved its application for Facebook fact-checker three times in a row.

The Russian Connection

Earlier this year, Susca spoke with Russia Today (RT), Vladimir Putin’s chief international propaganda network. The Kremlin-cashed outlet has been labeled by none other than President Obama’s Secretary of State John Kerry as a “propaganda bullhorn,” is a registered foreign agent in the United States, and is described by its own editor-in-chief as a tool by which Russia can wage “the information war, and what’s more, against the whole Western world. ”

In her feature interview for the outlet, Susca explicitly described her inability to be objective about President Trump, stating, “It’s hard for me to be an objective observer of this presidential administration when for years now they have continuously tried to delegitimize and marginalize news reporters for doing their constitutionally protected job.”

In the interview for RT, Susca also called White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany a liar, promoted the Washington Post, and spoke of the “great journalism being done” within RT studios.

It was all a bit surreal but it’s just a bad dream, right?

Apparently, this nonsense is actually going to happen now and, honestly, I don’t think even I can drink my way through this. Sure, I’ll give it a try, but I have some things I need to accomplish next year and I can’t get any of them done if I am meandering through a Biden-avoidance alcoholic haze every day.

A central component to my denial has involved my assessment about who the power behind the throne will be. At the beginning of the month, I wrote about the looming tug-of-war between DOCTOR OR SOMETHING Jill Biden and Miss Congeniality Kamala Harris for control of the empty space in Drooling Joe’s head. That’s a battle that is definitely still on and might even be worth pay-per-view.

They’re only bit players in the Joe Biden’s puppeteer sweepstakes. As my friend and colleague Stephen Green is fond of saying, Joe Biden is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Chinese Communist Party.

There’s the real problem that I’ve been trying to keep buried in the back of my mind.

Of course, I’m not doing as good of a job burying reality as the mainstream media is, as Jeff wrote over the weekend:

U.S. Treasury, Commerce Department, And Others Allegedly Hacked: MSM Blames Russia

On December 13th, a “sophisticated hacking group backed by a foreign government” allegedly carried out a cyber attack and stole information from the U.S. Treasury Department and a U.S. agency responsible for deciding policy around the internet and telecommunications.

This was initially reported by Reuters, citing unnamed sources.

In a separate report, the Washington Post reported that not only had the US Treasury been subjected to a hacker attack, but also the US Department of Commerce, in addition to other government agencies.

This was a part of a “global espionage campaign that stretches back months,” and was allegedly carried out by the Russian government.

The report is based on claims by unnamed individuals “familiar with the matter.”

According to the outlet, the Russian hackers behind the attack are APT29 (also allegedly known as Cozy Bear), and they’re allegedly part of the SVR – Russia’s foreign intelligence service.

“The same Russian group hacked the State Department and the White House email servers during the Obama administration,” according to the report, recalling of an even that wasn’t backed by any evidence whatsoever.

The FBI is reportedly investigating the campaign, which may have begun as early as spring, and had no comment Sunday. The victims have included government, consulting, technology, telecom, and oil and gas companies in North America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East, according to FireEye.

Notably, FireEye claimed it had been breached itself.

The Russian Embassy in Washington called the reports of Russian hacking “baseless.”

In a statement on Facebook it said, “attacks in the information space contradict” Russian foreign policy and national interests. “Russia does not conduct offensive operations” in the cyber domain.

All of the organizations were breached through the update server of a network management system made by the firm SolarWinds, FireEye said in a blog post.

The federal Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency issued an alert Sunday warning about an “active exploitation” of the SolarWinds Orion Platform, from versions of the software released in March and June. “CISA encourages affected organizations to read the SolarWinds and FireEye advisories for more information and FireEye’s GitHub page for detection countermeasures,” the alert said.

Trump raises China concerns as reason to veto defense bill

WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump offered a new rationale Sunday for threatening to veto the annual defense policy bill that covers the military’s budget for equipment and pay raises for service members: China. He did not outline his concerns.

Republican and Democratic lawmakers say the wide-ranging defense policy bill, which the Senate sent to the president on Friday, would be tough on China and must become law as soon as possible.

Both the House and Senate passed the measure by margins large enough to override a potential veto from the president, who has a history of failing to carry out actions he has threatened.

“The biggest winner of our new defense bill is China! I will veto!” Trump said in a new tweet.

The White House did not immediately respond to an emailed request for comment on Trump’s specific concerns about China.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., has said the bill would help deter Chinese aggression. Other GOP backers of the measure, including Sen. John Thune of South Dakota, the second-ranking Senate leader, and Rep. Mike Gallagher of Wisconsin, a member of the House Armed Services Committee, have tweeted that the bill would counter threats from countries such as China.

Sen. Jack Reed of Rhode Island, the top Democrat on the Senate Armed Services Committee, said Trump’s declaration that China is the biggest winner in the defense bill is false. Reed also noted the shifting explanations Trump has given for the veto threats.

“President Trump clearly hasn’t read the bill, nor does he understand what’s in it,” Reed said. “There are several bipartisan provisions in here that get tougher on China than the Trump Administration has ever been.”

A potential override of a veto would be a first for Trump and would come not long before he leaves office Jan. 20. A two-thirds vote is needed in each chamber for the bill to become law without Trump’s signature. The president has made numerous threats over Twitter to veto the bill over a requirement that military bases honoring Confederate leaders eventually be renamed. He also threatened a veto to try to force lawmakers to include provisions — unrelated to the military and national defense — to punish social media companies he claims were biased against him during the election.

Election software company Smartmatic accuses Fox News of defamation, demands retractions, threatens lawsuits

The company said it was the victim of a 'disinformation campaign' regarding the 2020 election.

Election software company Smartmatic on Monday demanded that Fox News and other right-of-center media outlets retract "false and defamatory" statements made about the company in the wake of the 2020 U.S. presidential election.

In legal notices and retraction demands, the company accused Fox News, Newsmax, and One America News Network of making "dozens of factually inaccurate statements" as part of a "disinformation campaign" to discredit the results of the election.

Business Insider obtained a copy of a letter addressed to Fox News executive vice president and general counsel Lily Fu Claffee claiming that the network "continually and repeatedly published demonstrably false information and defamatory statements."

"Fox News told its millions of viewers and readers that Smartmatic was founded by Hugo Chavez, that its software was designed to fix elections, and that Smartmatic conspired with others to defraud the American people and fix the 2020 U.S. election by changing, inflating, and deleting votes," the letter stated.

The company, which designs and implements election security technology, was central to claims of voting fraud made by attorney Sidney Powell as part of the legal challenges to the 2020 election filed on behalf of President Donald Trump. Powell and others claimed that Smartmatic's software was created in Venezuela at the direction of socialist dictator Hugo Chavez "to make sure he never lost an election." She also claimed Smartmatic worked in partnership with Dominion Voting Systems, a voting machine manufacturer, as part of a conspiracy to illegitimately swing the election for former Vice President Joe Biden.

At the time, Smartmatic issued a statement denying Powell's claims and clarifying that no ownership nor financial relationship exists between itself and Dominion.

"Smartmatic had nothing to do with the 'controversies' that certain public and private figures have alleged regarding the 2020 U.S. election," Smartmatic said Monday. "Multiple fact-checkers have consistently debunked these false statements with stunning consistency and regularity."

"They have no evidence to support their attacks on Smartmatic because there is no evidence. This campaign was designed to defame Smartmatic and undermine legitimately conducted elections," Smartmatic CEO Antonio Mugica said. "Our efforts are more than just about Smartmatic or any other company. This campaign is an attack on election systems and election workers in an effort to depress confidence in future elections and potentially counter the will of the voters, not just here, but in democracies around the world."

Smartmatic's statement noted that contrary to claims made by Powell and others, the company's only involvement in the 2020 U.S. election was as a manufacturing partner, system integrator, and software developer for Los Angeles County's voting system.

Smartmatic has reserved "all its legal rights and remedies, including its right to pursue defamation and disparagement claims" should Fox News, Newsmax, and One America News Network refuse to retract their respective statements.

US Supreme Court DENIES Texas election lawsuit

Very few laymen are aware, but whenever a court — ANY COURT — wants to expeditiously throw out a lawsuit, they often lean on the arbitrary and frivolous justification known as “LACK OF STANDING”.

As a matter of historical fact, more legitimate cases have been brought before more courts at every level in the USA which have been swiftly rejected using this transparently dismissive and unjust ruling.

Because the Texas election lawsuit presented such a strong case, the Left-leaning SCOTUS knew they had to knock it off the docket—FAST! Hence, the globalist justices knew just how to frame their decisions both individually and collectively: “LACK OF STANDING”.

Of course, throughout the legal arena, such a nakedly capricious ruling is always code, especially for the plaintiff: Don’t even think about resubmitting your lawsuit before the court no matter how meritorious it may be.

This form of denial of the most compelling and legitimate legal cases has been used by the New World Order globalist cabal for many decades. Live Updates: Electors of Five Battleground States Challenged by Trump Cast Votes for Biden

Mirroring the popular choice of their states, the 538 electors are expected to hand Biden 306 electoral votes - way above the victory threshold of 270 - with Trump getting the remaining 232 endorsements.

The US Electoral College convenes on Monday in state capitals across the country.

Electoral voting takes place in state capitals on the 41st day after the presidential vote - on the first Monday after the second Wednesday of December. According to the 12th amendment (1804) to the constitution, electors vote separately for the president and for the vice-president. To be elected, a candidate must gain an absolute majority (50 percent + 1), which is, at least 270 votes.

Votes are then tallied and sent to the US Congress for verification at a joint session presided over by the incumbent Vice-President Mike Pence on 6 January.

Each state elects as many electors as it has representatives in Congress (there are 535 people in Congress - 100 senators and 435 congressmen). The District of Columbia has three electors. Thus, the Electoral College consists of 538 people.

Dominion Voting Systems Uses Firm That Enabled US Treasury Hack

A company that provides voting systems in 28 states uses an Internet technology firm that was hacked.

Dominion Voting Systems uses SolarWinds software, according to a Dominion web page.

SolarWinds does not list Dominion on its partial customer listing but says its products and services are used by more than 300,000 customers around the world, including all five branches of the U.S. military and more than 425 of the U.S. Fortune 500.

The situation with SolarWinds software enabled hackers to gain access to the U.S. Commerce Department and, reportedly, the Treasury Department.

SolarWinds Orion products are currently being exploited by malicious actors, the Department of Homeland Security’s Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Agency (CISA) said. The tactic lets an attacker gain access to network traffic management systems.

The only known mitigation measure currently available is to disconnect affected devices, according to the agency.

SolarWinds recommended customers upgrade their Orion platform to a recent version. If customers aren’t able to upgrade immediately, they were urged to disable Internet access for the platform and limit ports and connections to only what is necessary. A patch is expected on Tuesday.

Dominion didn’t respond to a request for comment, including whether it had followed the measures recommended by either CISA or SolarWinds. Dominion also didn’t return a voicemail.

According to FireEye, a cybersecurity firm, the hackers inserted malicious code into legitimate software updates for the SolarWinds Orion software. The code enabled an attacker to gain remote access to the victim’s systems.

Republican Electors in Georgia and Pennsylvania Cast Procedural Votes For President and Vice President to Preserve Trump Camp Legal Challenges

The Electoral College is meeting today to formalize the 2020 election results.

The Trump campaign is contesting election results in several states due to massive voter fraud and irregularities so Republican Electors are stepping up and casting procedural votes to preserve the legal challenges.

Crooked Secretaries of State in Georgia and Pennsylvania certified false election results in favor of Joe Biden.

Republican Electors in Georgia and Pennsylvania on Monday cast procedural votes for President and Vice President to preserve the Trump campaign’s legal challenges.

Georgia GOP Chairman David Shafer said, “Because the President’s lawsuit contesting the Georgia election is still pending, the Republican nominees for Presidential Elector met today at noon at the State Capitol today and cast their votes for President and Vice President.”

“Had we not meet today and cast our votes, the President’s pending election contest would have been effectively mooted. Our action today preserves his rights under Georgia law.”

Likewise Republican electors in Pennsylvania cast procedural votes for Trump and Pence.

“Today’s move by Republican party electors is fashioned after the 1960 Presidential election, in which President Nixon was declared the winner in Hawaii. While Democrat legal challenges were pending, Democratic presidential electors met to cast a conditional vote for John F. Kennedy to preserve their intent in the event of future favorable legal outcomes,” the Pennsylvania GOP said in a statement.

“The conditional resolution states that electors certify their vote for the President and Vice President “on the understanding that if, as a result of a final non-appealable Court Order or other proceeding prescribed by law, [they] are ultimately recognized as being the duly elected and qualified Electors for President and Vice President of the United States of America from the State of Pennsylvania.”

Georgia Official Confirms Trump Will Upend Electoral College With ‘Alternative Electors’

A senior Republican Party official in Georgia confirms that an "alternative" slate of Trump Electors are voting today in Atlanta

A senior Republican Party official in Georgia confirmed to National File White House Senior Advisor Stephen Miller’s announcement on Fox & Friends this morning that an alternative slate of Electoral College Electors are voting today to re-elect President Donald J. Trump in defiance of the disputed 2020 election result.

National File’s source said, “It’s definitely happening. It’s not a secret. The campaign is up there doing this right now … One of the electors is a good friend of mine, and she’s up there right now in Atlanta.”

The Republican slate for the Electoral College are going to claim that they were legitimately elected and the plan is for them to make their vote for President Trump and send it to Congress. From there, Congress will have to sort the discrepancy between the states’ certifications of their election results and the votes of the alternate slate.

The senior party official remarked at the historic nature of the decision, “This is the first time since 1876 that a state has had two different slates of conflicting electors.”

This refers to the 1876 presidential election where disputed election results in Florida, Louisiana, South Carolina and Oregon prompted a congressional compromise which saw the Republicans keep the White House in exchange for concessions to Democrats.

Miller’s initial announcement on Fox & Friends explained the constitutional and legal rationale behind the alternate slate:

The only date in the Constitution is January 20th, so we have more than enough time to right the wrong of this fraudulent election result and certify Donald Trump as the winner of this election.

As we speak today, an alternate slate of electors in the contested states is going to vote and we’re going to send those results up to Congress.

ALL of our legal remedies remain open. That means that if we win these cases in the courts that we can direct that the alternate slate of electors be certified. The state legislatures in Georgia, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania can do the same. And likewise Congress has that opportunity as well to do the right thing.

As National File reported previously, a white paper from top lawyers at the Amistad Project demonstrated that the Electoral College deadlines of December 8th and 14th are negotiable at best and meaningless at worst.

Miller then went into further detail about the pending litigation over the 2020 election and explained how even fairly modest anti-fraud efforts now could easily flip the result:

If you just cured three simple constitutional defects, Donald Trump’s the winner of this election. Whether it’s the signature matching in Georgia that was illegally changed as a result of the Consent Decree without the legislature’s approval; or whether it’s the hundreds of thousands of improperly-cast ballots in Wisconsin – absentee voters who never actually submitted the requests for absentee ballots; or whether you’re talking about Pennsylvania, the clear Equal Protection violation when Democrat ballots were cured in advance of Election Day and Republican ballots weren’t.

These are just three of hundreds of violations that we’ve documented and those three violations alone make Donald Trump the winner of the 2020 election.

It is unclear how this will impact the impending run-off election for Georgia’s two U.S. Senate seats. As it stands, there there are 50 Republicans versus 48 Democrats elected to the Senate, so a double Democrat victory would create a 50-50 split with the next Vice President voting as a tie-breaker.

Mike Pompeo: China Is Infiltrating Our Government, Businesses, and Schools

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo told host Alex Marlow on Monday’s edition of Sirius XM’s Breitbart News Daily that the Chinese Communist Party is America’s primary foreign adversary and warned of China’s infiltration of the nation’s government businesses, and schools.

Marlow asked about reports of a data leak revealing Chinese state operatives infiltrating multinational corporations, including banks, defense contractors, and pharmaceutical companies.

Pompeo replied, “We’ve seen this everywhere, and President Trump’s been the first President of the United States, and, frankly, one of the first global leaders to identify this challenge from the Chinese Communist Party. I spoke about this in the context of our educational institutions at Georgia Tech last week, where they have infiltrated our schools and they spend money on research projects and so co-opt our institutions that are higher learning and research. They now infiltrate – we’ve seen this – into our government, into our businesses. President Trump called this out. We’ve begun to push back against it; there’s a lot more work to do. But make no mistake: the Chinese Communist Party presents the single greatest threat to the United States of America of our times.”

In September, Pompeo said he was “hopeful” that branches of the Confucius Institute — an organization run by the Chinese government — across America’s colleges and universities would be closed by the end of 2020. The Trump administration designated the Confucius Institute’s programs as foreign missions of the Chinese Communist Party.

China is a greater threat than Russia in the realm of hacking attempts targeting governmental and classified information, Pompeo held.

Reports last week alleged that a suspected Chinese spy developed extensive ties with local and national Democrat politicians, including House Intelligence Committee member Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA), as part of a years’-long political intelligence operation run by China’s main civilian spy agency between 2011 and 2015.

China is “running influence operations against members of Congress [and] governors,” Pompeo remarked. “This is a determined, long term, committed effort from General Secretary Xi Jinping, and President Trump has been the first one to say “enough” and begun to push back against it by doing things like closing the Chinese consulate in Houston now a few months back.”

Marlow asked about economic integration between the U.S. and China as an impediment to a national security strategy towards the one-party state.

“I feel like we’re still even just addicted to Chinese products,” Marlow stated. “We can’t help ourselves from buying Chinese goods online. I mean, where do things start in terms of striving to push back on a national level to this infiltration?”

Pompeo praised President Donald Trump’s departure from his predecessors in terms of U.S. foreign policy towards China.

“For 50 years, Republicans and Democrats alike were asleep while the Chinese Communist Party began to move in,” Pompeo said. “They moved in through running state-owned enterprises and stealing our intellectual property, denying tens of millions of American jobs. They moved into our institutions of higher learning. … We’ve seen the kinds of things they do to break their promises around the world. … They told Barack Obama – President Obama – that they wouldn’t arm the islands in the South China Sea. They immediately did so.”
