I could literally build my own base station. So, so many things that I would have the FCC on my case about if I actually bothered.

Now as for the HAM operators…. I'd spend quite a bit of time trolling them.

So where I would really go is likely the CB side of things and look at working in some kind of ultrasound, multiband modem. There are so many possibilities with CB that have been completely stunted by the FCC locking us back in the stone age of radio.

As if some kind of action on our part was going to stop that from happening?

Let's say you are correct and we should have …. Been doing what? Running around, screaming that the world is ending and trying to get people together to conduct raids of government offices and companies?

Beating on antifa in the streets?

You think we were going to go to our fellow gun-toting friends and get them to go with us to assault the local military base?

Even if your entire assessment is correct, then it still doesn't change our options. The best thing we could do was to build awareness of the deep state and its corruption such that if Trump lost or powers rose out from the shadows, we would have greater capability against it.

Which we do.

If you think the deep state was not going to fight against us using the vote and other subversive tactics, then you are delusional.

Further, if the deep state could throw us on trains and put us all in concentration camps, they already would be doing it. They would not have relied on fraudulent voting to try and legitimize themselves.

They are weak, and their tactics betray that.

So, if it comes to shooting people, marching in the street, etc - there is a clear and obvious existential threat which people are moved to at the moment. If the deep state plan is to try and boxcar us in the next few years - they will face walls of lead the likes of which have only been felt on Normandy.

I had some related ideas.

Consider that I could tune a photodetector to a specific frequency. Then I could use a laser to illuminate a reflective or anistropic object.

More a situation where I would want to talk without it being obvious to whom. Further, if you didn't know to look for it in the first place - you basically have an optical bus network. Granted, at greatly reduced fidelity compared to an ideal consumer/commercial setup, but we aren't trying to stream 4k video to each other.

However, it was to the constellation of Orion where the spirits of the Pharaohs were said to go after death, if memory serves. Why they were buried with ships and such.

At least… According to what the egyptologists say. Sometimes I wonder if they just project their own cult beliefs on a civilization no longer around to tell us what the hell their murals were about.

I was always thinking in terms of battlefield systems. Stuff that as a battle unfolded, you could point at a water tower and say that was going to be your illumination target and then everyone disperse and lock in on that. That way it would not be as easy to use anti-radiation tactics to resolve where we were chatting with each other from. Sure - if they happened to be scanning the optical spectrum and see the water tower in a disco, they know something is up - but they would still have a much harder time resolving where everyone was.

My mind has always been fixated on war. Call it a… Blessing I was born with that I knew this was on the horizon. Or something. I don't really know how to explain it. Just a natural gravitation of my mind toward foreseeing this whole conflict arise and being absorbed with a compulsion to design and innovate in relation to it.
