An American Fantasy

Joe Biden approaches the podium. Adjusting the microphone, he pulls something from his pocket and places it on the lectern. Secret service personnel quickly approach the stage.

"Stay," Biden says into the mike and they hold their position. He begins to speak.

"My fellow Americans, today I was informed of a fact that I actually knew to be true."

The crowd sits silent. Secret Service personnel begin to fidget. One reaches to his ear leaning forward and casts his eyes left and right.

"Do it," Dr. Jill Biden murmurs to herself.

"Today I learned that I am a medically-created clone of the true, late Joe Biden," he continues. "It is my fault…" He reached to the lectern, grabs the gun and places it to his temple. "…that America is broken. I'm so sorry, Beau. He loved you."

At the same moment Secret Service stormed the stage, Joe Biden pulled the trigger and ended his short-lived presidency.

Jill lowered her head and smiled wickedly.
