We need a Defenders of Liberty League (or something similar that does not spell DOLL!) with people taking an oath - and possibly some portion willing to forgo having children for the duration of their service. Having a family definitely inhibits willingness for risk. Gives you a reason to fight, but also a reason to be afraid or compromised.
