Fines were issued to those in attendance, each for $1,546. ($9276 fines total for having dinner with your family on New Year's Eve.)

GATINEAU, QC. – Gatineau police say two people were arrested New Year's Eve and fines have been handed out after a confrontation that started over a gathering in a private home.

Police were called to a home on rue Le Baron at around 11:30 p.m. Thursday after they received a complaint. There, they found six adults inside.

Indoor and outdoor private gatherings are currently prohibited in Gatineau under Quebec's COVID-19 response.

A video posted to social media Friday evening shows a dispute between officers and people inside the home, during which one person is arrested and taken to the ground.

The video appears to show the height of the confrontation.

"At some point, they had no judgement at all. You can't treat people like this," said Mathieu Tessier, who appears in the video.

Tessier tells CTV News Ottawa he got involved after an officer allegedly pulled his mother's arm.

"The truth is…they aggressed us."

In a pair of tweets Saturday, Gatineau police (SPVG) said the video, which had more than 133,000 views on Twitter as of Saturday afternoon, is only part of the story and alleged that one of the people involved assaulted an officer.

"The video shows only an excerpt from the intervention," the SPVG said in French. "The individuals were recalcitrant and refused to cooperate. The individual arrested in the video had assaulted a police officer, hitting him in the face a few times."

#Gatineau

An SPVG spokesperson told CTV News that the individual seen in the video was charged with assault and obstructing an officer. The owner of the home was also arrested and charged with refusing to provide personal information.

Both were later released at the scene.

Fines were issued to those in attendance, each for $1,546. ($9276 fines total for having dinner with your family on New Year's Eve.)

No one was hurt.

"We ask for your collaboration to continue to respect health measures and collaborate during any police intervention," the SPVG said.

Tessier had posted the video on his Facebook page, but removed the video on Saturday.

The Gatineau Incident

Gatineau, Quebec, Canada: Maxime Pedneaud-Jobin - Mayor

tl/dr

educated at University of Ottawa; community worker; wants to "make our communities more sustainable"; mayoral win was a surprise upset; member of International Observatory of Mayors on Living Together; main work prior to politics was health admin & journalism. . . hmmm

Maxime Pedneaud-Jobin was born in Buckingham, and went on to earn a master's degree in regional development from the Université du Québec en Outaouais, where he studied the historical evolution of the relationship between the Outaouais and Ottawa. He spent years working with his community before being elected Municipal Councillor for Buckingham in 2009, and later Mayor of Gatineau on November 3, 2013. In 2017, he was re-elected to that position, at which time he also took over as chair of the Caucus des maires des grandes villes de l'Union des municipalités du Québec, a strategic role aimed at influencing the relationship between municipalities and the Government of Quebec.

Since becoming mayor, he has focused on a series of investments to modernize the bicycle paths and the municipal library network, as well as on implementing a vision of land use planning to improve the quality of life in neighbourhoods and make our communities more sustainable.

The Gatineau Incident

We have to use their techniques against them. Isolate one incident and the people responsible and ATTACK relentlessly & constantly until THEY CAN'T WALK DOWN THE STREET.

If they want to be Gestapo Yes Men then make them pay!

ALSO, the incident happened on rue Le Baron when a neighbour SNITCH, SPY, KAREN called police to inform them an elderly woman had a few family members over for dinner, resulting in over $9000 in fines + 2 arrests. This person needs to be identified and made famous.

THEY WON'T BE ABLE TO WALK DOWN THE STREET

Further thoughts onThe Gatineau Incident

  1. Get black out blinds for all windows as the Brits did in WWII. Check to see if any light is escaping at night.

  1. Get a weapon to protect your family. This incident was unthinkable a year ago. Now everyone is afraid to visit Grandma. These incidents will only escalate. Treason Tam & Castro are EVIL, committed communists. The police, courts, politicians & media, at ALL LEVELS, are also THE ENEMY.

The next stage after attacking outdoor hockey players, restaurant owners and grandmas, will be arresting and dragging our family members off to concentration camps. We have to be psychologically prepared to do the unthinkable.

  1. Use operational awareness & common sense. Park on a different street and walk over. Slip in side doors or back doors. Keep outside lights off when entering or exiting. DO NOT ANSWER THE DOOR. Those Nazi pigs still need a warrant to enter a private property.

Tomorrow is a big prayer day. We need all the help we can get.
