The above is a very informative 30-minute vid by Amazing Polly on the connections between the Maxwell family (Robert the father, and sisters Ghislaine, twin sisters/IT entrepreneurs Christine and Isabel, psychotherapist Anne, and others), the IT world, Hewlett-Packard servers, Library of Congress, major three-letter agencies in US and abroad, and software we now take for granted, like search technology, databases, and certain email features like voice recorders and multiple languages (see below) in email and phones.
Note that Orthodox Jew Robert Maxwell owned the Berlitz language schools. Even though he was quite the capitalist, he was a socialist and was a Member of Parliament for the Labour Party (he also was apparently working with MI6, KGB, and Mossad). Robert had several kids; oddly, "'When my father was alive,' says [son] Kevin, 'we were never allowed to work together, and were often kept on different continents." Weird - anon guesses that's one way to keep secrets and not compromise family members!
Their information efforts start in the early 1970s with Information on Demand (a 15-"runner" totally human-conducted search company), Magellan, Chiliad, Excite and continue to today with CommTouch (an Israeli software company) - all of which are companies you've never heard of because they market their products to other businesses for incorporation in the products you and the government buy. Also, think of connections like Carly Fiorina of HP going on to chair the CIA External Advisory Board. Presumably, HP servers with the Maxwell software were sold to 3-letters before 911 - were the servers compromised so they would skip over 911 clues and connections ?
Think of the capability this offered to power brokers in the Maxwell world wrt software backdoors in the databases and computers in the intelligence community as well as blackmail capability!
