Trump DOJ Secures Victory Against Tech Firm With Anti-U.S. Citizen Hiring Practices

The Department of Justice Protecting U.S. Workers Initiative has secured a victory against the practice of anti-citizen discrimination carried out by the tech sector.

Robert Heath, an IT worker and U.S. citizen, triumphed over a Dallas-area corporation issuing job postings revealing it was interested in hiring specific classes of aliens.

According to the Department of Justice (DOJ), this constituted “discrimination against U.S. workers.”

The “settlement resolves claims that Ikon routinely discriminated against U.S. workers by posting job advertisements specifying a preference for applicants with temporary work visas, and that Ikon failed to consider at least one U.S. citizen applicant who applied to a discriminatory advertisement,” the DOJ added.

“Based on its investigation, the Department concluded that from May 8, 2019, to September 21, 2019, Ikon posted at least eight facially discriminatory job advertisements targeting non-U.S. citizens with immigration statuses associated with employment-based visas. For instance, the investigation revealed that one of Ikon’s advertisements stated, “Looking for OPT, CPT, H4 EAD, and H-1B transfer,” the department’s press release noted.

As a result, Ikon promised to stop discriminating against U.S. workers and pay $27,000 to the government and $15,000 to Heath.

“This is the eleventh settlement by the Civil Rights Division under its 2017 Protecting U.S. Workers Initiative, which is aimed at targeting, investigating, and taking enforcement actions against companies that discriminate against U.S. workers in favor of temporary visa workers,” the DOJ noted.

David Mamet Warns Americans Are Giving Up Their Rights Under Coronavirus Lockdowns: ‘We’ve Forgotten the Constitution’

Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright and Oscar-nominated screenwriter David Mamet is warning Americans that they are giving up their Constitutional rights under coronavirus lockdowns, saying that questioning government authorities needs to remain a vital part of the country’s democratic tradition.

In an interview with Breitbart News’ editor-in-chief Alex Marlow on Breitbart News Daily on Sirius XM Patriot 125, David Mamet blasted the shut-down and stay-at-home orders that have once again taken effect in many states, leading to widespread economic devastation.

“It just doesn’t make any sense. It’s the first time in history that an entire economy has been shut down because of an infection,” he said during Wednesday’s broadcast. “And obviously everyone gets to pick his or her own experts and say whom they believe in. But that’s what you’re supposed to do with your health, right? We’re supposed to make our own decisions about our health.”

Mamet, author of The Diary of a Porn Star by Priscilla Wriston-Ranger: As Told to David Mamet with an Afterword by Mr. Mamet, said feminists have long argued that women have the right to make choices about their bodies. “Now that can be argued either way, just as the virus can be argued either way. But the argument and the terms under which we undertake it are the essence of American democracy.”

During the interview, Mamet made the provocative claim that the west is in effect killing itself by submitting to fear.

“What we’re seeing is a populace that’s gone nuts and I’ve got a new book coming out called Journal of the Plague Year where I try to reason my way through the way that the west is committing suicide,” he said. “What we’re doing to commit suicide is we’ve forgotten the Constitution.”

He added: “Basically, we human beings have the capacity to be sheep. If we don’t believe in God and if we don’t believe in our country, we’re going to believe in any mumbo jumbo that comes along. And by the time we look around, it’s too late.”

SEC Busts $296,000 "Insider Trading Scheme" After Accountant Liquidates Wife's IRA To Go All-In On Acquisition

With the trillions in fake money being printed monthly by the Fed, major investment banks gaming entire indices with gamma squeezes and what seems like a neverending barrage of millions of dollars of suspicious call buying ahead of - well, basically every major M&A transaction we've seen over the last decade - the SEC wants you to know they are on the case and out to fry the big fish.

And the big fish the agency has fried, of course, is some corporate controller schmuck who made $296,000 insider trading in advance of his own company's acquisition.

According to an SEC release put out on Friday, the agency charged "the former Corporate Controller of CEB Inc. and his brother-in-law with insider trading" for trading ahead of the company's $2.6 billion acquisition.

Hilariously, the corporate controller and his brother in law "made profits of more than $243,000 and $53,000" after taking "aggressive steps" to trade ahead of the news, including liquidating an IRA, maxing out a line of credit and taking a loan out on a car to fund the purchases.

The complaint alleges that based on the information tipped by Wright, Clark purchased highly speculative, out-of-the-money call options and directed his son to purchase the same options in the son's account. As the date of the announcement approached, Clark allegedly took aggressive steps to fund purchases of additional out-of-the-money CEB options, including liquidating his wife's IRA, nearly maxing out a line of credit and taking out a loan on his car. The options Clark allegedly purchased were so speculative that Clark - alone or with his son - were the only people to buy those options on all but one of the days they traded. As alleged, Clark and his son made profits of more than $243,000 and $53,000, respectively.

As most traders who watch options flow daily seem to understand, this "bust" is a very small drop in the bucket of the obvious illegal activity that takes place what seems like daily in the options market:

This guy had no idea how to buy options, by the sound of it.

‘Say His Name’: NFL Honors Man Who Reportedly Committed Multiple Drive-By Shootings, Shot at Police

An Indianapolis Colts player is set to honor Dreasjon Reed, a man with a long criminal history who was killed in May during a shootout with the police.

The NFL announced that a Colts player would honor Reed by wearing a sticker on his helmet with the 22-year-old’s name on it as part of the league’s #SayTheirStories campaign to bring attention to police violence.

The Colts said that linebacker Mathew Adams would wear the decal with Reed’s name.

The league’s tweet features a quote from Reed’s mother, Demetree Wynn, who exclaimed, “[Reed] deserves justice! He was a human being, a son, a brother, and a friend. He is my son, and I love him.”

Reed was killed by the Indianapolis police on May 6. An investigation by the Indiana State Police showed that officers began pursuing Reed after he endangered the public through reckless driving. The officers followed at a distance so as to not cause even more danger to innocent pedestrians and motorists. Police pursued Reed on foot after he bailed out of his car.

While it’s unclear who shot first, Reed clearly fired at the police. Investigators found two shell casings from Reed’s weapon and 13 casings from the weapon of the pursuing officer. Video from Reed’s phone shows shell casings flying in two different directions.

“Almost exactly at the same time, two, we know two shots were fired. That can’t happen unless two different shooters are shooting,” said Indiana State Police Lt. Jeff Herron explained.

The investigation also found that the shooting began after the pursuing officer tased Reed.

“He actually tases him at the same time Mr. Reed is actually starting to pull his firearm out,” Herron said.

“Mr. Reed basically goes down on his stomach and then he turns, basically in that same position onto his, basically onto his buttocks and he follows and it appears he follows Officer Mercer as he’s moving,” Herron concluded.

The investigation also found still shots showing Reed stealing the gun from a pawn shop in Texas, and text messages in which Reed detailed his involvement in two drive-by shootings.

The officer who shot Reed was not charged with any crime.

This isn’t the first time that the NFL has paid tribute to a dangerous criminal. In September, Steeler lineman Maurkice Pouncey ended up regretting wearing the name of Antwon Rose, Jr.’s, name on his helmet.

Pouncey admitted that he only had “limited facts” about Rose, who was killed in an encounter with the police in June of 2018.

The NFL characterized Rose as an innocent who was killed by the police. But the league did not inform fans of all the facts. For instance, Rose was involved in a drive-by shooting before he was pulled over. The drive-by shooting victim told police Rose was the shooter, so the police had every reason to assume that Rose was armed and dangerous.

Georgia to Conduct Statewide ‘Signature Match Review’ Of Absentee Ballots

Georgia is conducting a statewide review of signatures on absentee ballots after weeks of pressure from President Trump and his campaign.

Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger announced the statewide review in a press release on Thursday. The announcement comes after his office approved an initial signature review in one county, Cobb, on Monday.

“We are confident that elections in Georgia are secure, reliable, and effective,” Raffensperger said in a statement. “Despite endless lawsuits and wild allegations from Washington, D.C. pundits, we have seen no actual evidence of widespread voter fraud, though we are investigating all credible reports. Nonetheless, we look forward to working with the University of Georgia on this signature match review to further instill confidence in Georgia’s voting systems.”

Former Goldman CFO Marty Chavez Calls For Universal Basic Income "To Stave Off Revolution"

Former Goldman Sachs CFO Marty Chavez thinks that income redistribution via Universal Basic Income (UBI) is the only way to stave off revolution as the wealth gap continues to increase.

n an interview with The Business of Business, host Gregory Ugwi asked Chavez if he agrees with Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), who says "there should be no billionaires in the US as long as there are poor families," adding that venture capitalist Paul Graham says that income inequality is a "natural part of capitalism, and a sign that the process is working."

Chavez, a Democrat donor (most recently Pete Buttigieg's presidential bid), agreed that the income gap is a consequence of capitalism, but said "at the same time, it isn't an inevitable feature of capitalism that the inequality be as extreme as it's getting. There have been long periods in American history where there was always inequality - but it wasn't this kind of inequality."

He also isn't a fan of AOC, saying "I am not in AOC's camp - at all. I didn't vote for her, I wouldn't vote for her. I hear her, and she's just not saying anything that makes any sense to me."

"At the same time, I'm a big proponent of a universal basic income.

My personal view is that if you're just being pragmatic and looking at inequality - and not thinking about some abstract concept of justice - you don't want the inequality to be so extreme that it leads to revolution. So you ought to be prepared to pay to decrease that probability.

This is what I say to, you know, friends who you might call 'oligarchs,' right? Why it would make sense for everybody to have some baseline income and why we should all pay for it."
