Lin Wood stated "they wanted to get caught". Getting caught would drive the media propaganda machine to go into balls-deep mode blaming Russia while the Trump admin planned their "illegal" attack on China. China is ASKING for an attack. They are looking for ANY reason to destroy us and the UN is watching closely waiting to intervene/join.
Taking a chance to blatantly steal an election and getting away with it would've just been a bonus - the plan all along was conflict.
