California is a garbage state. I want out.
Junky, who just left the drug house next door, walks onto my property and stands against my house. I go out and tell them they need to leave. They say no. I tell them they are trespassing and need to leave. They say no.
Mind you this happens several times a month and calling the PD takes hours before they arrive. By then the person is gone. And after all, it is my prop and I have a right to protect it.
So, i go in to the house and get a spray bottle I use for the cats when they're fighting. I go out and spray the person, advising them to leave. They refuse and stand there getting drenched. They call the police. police arrive in seconds and tell me I was in the wrong. That they had every right to throw a rock at me if they wanted as I assaulted them. Officer also said they were perfectly in their right to be on my property as they were trying to get out of the sun and stand under a tree. PD politely asked the person to cross the street and then warned me to leave it to them to protect my property.
