Very true, and this is a potentially an important observation. - I have a female employee, my 2nd in charge, and when we have something big going on that we need to discuss privately (business related, no govt)…like having to fire someone, we can text each other as much as 50 times a day. It circumvents the corporate email system, so it's a bit more secure. Absolutely no hanky panky with us, just a highly trusted colleague who helps me manage lots of moving parts.
My guess is the frequency of the texts indicates conspiratorial activities. The "texting lovers" could also have been a bit of preemptive fiction to help build a "let's not invade their privacy" narrative.
